"The food was excellent, but the service was alarmingly slow. We even had to inquire about the arrival of our main courses. The landlord kindly offered to comp our second round of drinks as an apology, but it still felt like we had been overlooked. The venue itself is charming, featuring friendly staff and lovely historic elements of the mill. It’s just unfortunate that the service detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience. "We only discovered this fantastic restaurant thanks to a tradesman at the holiday complex we were staying at. Located on a side street in the village of Tideford, it is not well signposted. But now that the word is spreading, make sure you visit and sample the freshest and most delicious seafood you can imagine. Upon arrival, my wife and I were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The friendly bar staff quickly took our drink orders. The menu, offering seafood, meats, and vegetarian options, may not be extensive, but the quality of the dishes is superb based on our experience. Following a recommendation from another guest, I tried the seafood gumbo. This smoky, soup-like dish was packed with king prawns, crab, lobster, and haddock, accompanied by a slice of rustic bread. My wife ordered the haddock and chips, which she found to be the best fish she had ever tasted. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Tideford to discover this charming and welcoming pub is a must. You will not be disappointed by this hidden gem of a place with its old-world charm."

"What a very disappointing visit to the Tamar View nursery restaurant yesterday (18 May 2022). It was our 1st visit since the pandemic but why this has caused such a change we can’t understand. OK distancing, self service, etc we understand. Before covid we could sit with our dog in the main area but not the lounge fair enough but this time we were directed to a back corner, almost outside in the garden centre. It was not very welcoming, comfortable or warm. Very draughty and cold. When questioned the waitress said ‘it’s where we put the dogs’! On top of this they had sold out of pasties and sausage rolls it was only 2pm! 3rd choice meal which was OK, in fact the chips were really good. It was so cold my wife kept her coat on and another family, with an elderly relative, also commented on the room and temperature also keeping outdoor coats on. On the whole not an experience we would like again. Needless to say, although I’m not sure it would matter as the restaurant is very popular, we will not be visiting again. It may be dog friendly but it is far from dog owner friendly."

"delicious food, not too much msg started at £10.30 for main course and a roasted rice an extra £4.50 a mixed starter for 2 people was £15. I found the prices a bit on the steep side in comparison to home. even though the side of the car seemed. being busy, we were the only customers in the restaurant. they might have taken a ride next time to save some money"
