"I am honored and astounded to be the first to review this magical food-meets-forest experience. Granted, a car is needed to reach this pinnacle of Soriano nel Cimino dining, accessible via wending tree-lined roads, up and up the mountain. But it is well-worth the adventure. First, the menu: regional, traditional, seasonal. Started with carpaccio (in this case, more preserved beef than raw), moved on to a primi of chestnut and porcini pockets in a cream sauce, and then to a secondi of veal on polenta, topped with porcini mushrooms (can't get enough)! The beef, interesting, the pasta, heaven on earth, the veal, hearty and delicious. All, accompanied by the owner's pick of affordable and absolutely suitable vino rosso. Our feast was finished with tartufo affigato, the perfect close to a most amazing meal. Although we bungled with our menu Italian, the service was friendly ... And patient, as we were the only ones there. We chose to dine at lunch, the better to enjoy the after-meal workout of exploring the surrounding woods.
