Im a big sushi fan and worked in the industrie for some years. Based on that I must say the quality was disappointing. Fish was not ultra fresh and the portion not so good made. Had the feeling it was not freshly made on the spot. Not a restaurant I would return.

The choice of dishes is perhaps a bit “related” than with the restaurant chains with the same concept, but the sushi is more delicious. The service is friendly and fast. While other locals in the pandemic struggle for their existence, the Sakura in Essen is booked almost every evening. I hope it will remain so;

We've been coming to the Sakura in Essen for a few years now. The food is simply great, the staff very polite, fast and accommodating. Over the years, the food has let down a little bite, but we have never been satisfied before. The small portions you order always arrive fresh and hot at the table and there is no problem to leave something to put it on the grill again. If it is very full, you can wait 15 minutes, but i.d.R. the food is already very soon. Prices are absolutely reasonable, seats are sufficient, only the parking lot is somewhat small.

Sakura is set in the countryside beside the A52 and when we went for lunch we were the only people there (I'm told that it gets very busy on weekend evenings though). The restaurant offers an "all you can eat" menu for €19.90 per person from Monday to Thursday and €20.90 on Friday, weekends and public holiday. The rules are that each person can have up to four rounds of ordering and can choose four items each time, but any any leftovers attract penalty payments (€1 for sushi ans salads and €2 for warm dishes).The food was excellent and we only managed two rounds before we were full. We come regularly and very happy to the Sakura and leave Duisburg-Rheinhausen. The reason is not only the friendly and volatile service, but above all the problem-free and reliable fulfillment of our special health requests. My daughter and I do not use dairy products or gluten-containing foods.
