"Went to the Sasso last week with my family. At the beginning everything was fine; the service was friendly and swift. Soon after, though, the place suddenly got much more crowded (not surprisingly on the long weekend around the first of May) and it seems...the staff couldn't really handle that. The restaurant allowed groups of guests in with people who each had already drunk a few beers already, apparently; they made quite a bit of noise and when someone from our group told the waiter about this and asked whether he could tell them to reduce their noise level, the waiter said that he cannot do this, as it's an openly accessible restaurant. We thought this was a rather weird behaviour and he was probably rather looking after the other groups' larger bills. Waiting staff didn't show up anymore and we had to ask twice to get the bill, after a long wait. The second negative point is that the restaurant is no longer that cosy after renovation enlargement; it has rather a metropolitan cool atmosphere which may be OK for a lunch or a business dinner, but I wouldn't go there for a private dinner. There wasn't much to criticize about the food, although it didn't have any highlights, either. Anyway, there are better restaurants in Oldenburg."

Very delicious food and excellent service! I've been working in gastronomy for years and can certainly judge it very well. The SASSO will definitely be visited more often by us.

Excellent local restaurant. Busy even on weekdays. Friendly servers. Provided a menu in English as well and had servers who spoke English, too. Lovely atmosphere for either a private dinner or for a family or work group.

On my journey, the Sasso was recommended to me. The best tip for a long time. Cosy ambience, eating a poem, service is fast and a special thank you go to the bartender who served me the Basil Smash as I know him! Best ever! Further good. Ver carta

Besides the Sasso being just around the corner from where I live (How very convenient my favorite on the menu is the antipasti section, but I can also recommend pizza and pasta since I don't eat meat too often. A reservation on weekends, however, is...advisable.

eating was absolutely delicious! very nice staff, some even enjoyed our banter! more lively than I expected on Wednesday night, but that only speaks for the restaurant. the atmosphere was beautiful, all inclusive of the bathroom was clean and accessible. the prices are absolutely appropriate for the quality of food, atmosphere and service.
