"I've visited Schroeder's a number of times over the past couple of years primarily because it's only a couple blocks from my apartment, including one remodel which didn't seem to really introduce much of a change. The location isn't great since it is loacted in the residential Neustadt area of Mainz, more than 2km from downtown.The main dishes that I've tried were schnitzel, which were good but didn't stand out much. However the beer is good and the staff has always been friendly. It's definitely a good choice to meet up with friends or watch a football game. I would say it's better as a weekly hangout, than as a restaurant to eat at, especially with it's outdoor seating in the summer.In other words it's an OK place to grab a bite to eat, but I would stick to downtown Mainz if you are only in Mainz for a short time. Beautiful corner pub, here you can revive the charm of the old New Town Pub scene very well. Super-friendly! And very lovingly prepared food! Price/Performance Top! Service and quality anyway.

The Schröders is now part of our regular pub. Every Monday is carving day and the carvings are all always super delicious. The part is big and all sauces taste great. The owner is very accommodating and the atmosphere is generally very pleasant Ver carta

I'm here more often for lunch. The food is excellent and the service is very nice. It was a little salad on the plate and I was unquestioned for an extra serving. The ambience and furnishings are also very beautiful. With a lot of operation, it sometimes takes a few minutes longer for it the carving is unmatched.
