The food,staff and ambiance were tremendous. The staff recommended the duck with mashed potatoes and it was spot on amazing. I will get it again on my next visit! Great music, too.

we had a nice evening on the terrace of the shankabar. meat was grilled to perfection, next to dishes very good. super friendly waitress marlène, who even supplemented the caffe gourmand we ordered.

on a holiday we fought to find a place that was open and had one table and we had luck and got the last table in shanka. the burger was absolutely tasty and the service very well, although she super busy.

We came here based on the good notes we found. And actually we have been totally satisfied! The staff is very friendly, and our waiter, a young guy, was very professional and kind. All the plates we ordered were prepared in a professional way and...we're all very tasty. Not to mention the dessert! Take the cafe gourmand ;

Service was good, that's the only reason we gave this a 2 5 instead of 1 5 rating. Food was terrible, if possible the ravioli tasted bland but overrun with basil at the same time, and I left most of my linguini with ham on my plate....The wine we picked was also pretty bad, but that might have been on us. To top it off, the atmosphere is more of a night club feel, with music pumping and very loud. Will not return.

Good atmosphere for lunch and excellent food. Our last lunch in Corsica and we wanted to make it a good one. Shankabar is on the main square. Staff are friendly and patient. We needed comfort food and the chicken club sandwich and burger were perfect....Fries were crunchy and fresh. The meat in the burger was juicy and delicious with cheese and tomato thrown in, and no mayo a big plus . Cost was fair for a prime location. Good coffee too.

To get something to eat for lunch is simly not easy in November in Corsica ... specially if its near 2.30 pm .... in several restaurants and bars in Porto Vecchio we are been rejected...., nevertheless, it also goes differently.... go to Stephan to the...Shankabar .... for sure we can have something to eat at this time. ........ the Pulpo Salad to the hors d'oeuvre was as excellent as the steak and St. Pierre fish..... the service is very good very friendly... the wine choice and the price achievement relation is in any case right........ we went there again with pleasure the next day.... an original Corsican stew with veal is to be recommended very much........ in general we can most warmly...

This is a bar and a restaurant on the square near the church in the old town. If you want a drink, this is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. We found our waitress very friendly and attentive which you...do not always get in restaurants here. The beer was cold and the local Rose wine was very nice as you'd expect. Whatever you do though, eat somewhere else, the food is very poor. I chose the veal escalope, which was edible but burned, my wife however chose gambas, which was old, greasy and over cooked, really bad. a busy place right next to the central market place. I had lunch there, which we liked very much. the waitress was very friendly and helpful. my wife had a wonderful fish and chips while I had a great thunfischtar. all great. the pavlowa desert mascarpone,... red berries, .. is simply brilliant. in the evening we couldn't find a table in other restaurants and come back. the same waitress remembered us. the chef also gave recommendations. other two waitresses also very friendly. it is a very busy place. we have returned a third time. every time the service was excellent and eating well. it is a lively place in the august and the personal runs back and forth. every time we went, the personal w...
