First time at this restaurant. I would go as far as saying it’s the best Indian restaurant in Eastbourne. Old favourites on the menu as well as fantastic innovative dishes such as a divine seabass in a coconut creamy sauce. Also reasonably priced. Good service too. Highly recommended.

On holiday in Eastbourne for a few days, we really fancied a decent curry and oh boy, did this deliver! The food was absolutely gorgeous, service was very friendly and efficient and the price reasonable. Well worth repeating if we return to Eastbourne, and definitely highly recommended!

Seen this restaurant several times on visits and decided to try it. What a fabulous experience. A small restaurant with excellent service. We had time to make choices without being pushed which is not always the case. Food was lovely. Sag paneer very tasty. Extremely good experience and will come in if we return to eastbourne

We had an amazing experience at this Indian restaurant! The food was absolutely perfect, we couldn't find a single fault. Despite visiting Eastbourne for years, we only recently discovered this hidden gem. The prawn purée was the best I've ever had, and the chicken in my main dish was so tender it melted in my mouth. I can't stop raving about it - this is the best Indian food I've had in years! The staff were incredibly efficient and friendly. Just thinking about it now is making me hungry. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant.

Visiting Eastbourne last week we decided to try Shimla. As soon as we came in the door the wine list was pushed in our faces. My friend had vegetable Masala. The only vegetables in this dish were green beans and onions. She had expected a good mixture of vegetables, such as cauliflower, peas, etc. The masala sauce was basically like a tomato puree and much too sweet. My Madras curry was just like a runny curry sauce with King Prawns in it, It tasted ok, but again there should have been something to fill the sauce out a bit. I shan't be going there again next time I visit Eastbourne.

To start, Shimla advertises a takeaway service with free delivery within a 5-mile radius for orders over £15, but this is not true. I live 4 miles away and was told my area was not covered, so I had to pay extra for delivery through Uber Eats, which is still delivered by Shimla's own staff. Additionally, I chose this restaurant based on the 4.4 star reviews, but was disappointed with the quality of the food. The vegetables were tough and tasteless, the sauce was bland and watery instead of creamy and coconutty, and the paneer was rubbery with little flavor. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant for takeout or delivery as the Indian food I received did not taste authentic.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Shimla and highly recommend it! The food was delicious, with options ranging from classic dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala to new selections from the chef's menu. The onion bhajis were particularly outstanding. The presentation of the dishes in new white china was lovely. The drink selection was great, and we appreciated that the coke came in a bottle. The decor was modern and comfortable, with clean seating. The staff, including the manager, were friendly and helpful, providing explanations of items on the menu.
