A delightful evening with first-class food service on the banks of the Thames with great views.

We were on the Evening Standard deal for lunch. V good vfm. Service good. Nice and quiet, so a good place to meet and catch up. Fab views of the river.

excellent food and service. personal very friendly and responsive. on request after the window. we could stay over two hours. would be highly recommended.

We have enjoyed having lunch, the Italian waiter was a good lad, but the menu choices are the same my local pub! “The Skylon harms” is a good place for a posh pub lunch.

Very good food as always and great view from our table by the window looking out onto the Thames. Set lunch menu with glass of wine had plenty of choice and was good value.

Great food, lovely room, excellent service, lovely view. The only downside was the pricing of the wine list which is absolutely outrageous starting at £34 for a house Argentinian red or white it actually does put me off going back. By all means have the pricier wines on the list but, please, have some for us plebs too!

A disappointing experience which failed to live up to the expense. One semi cold lobster out of 3 ordered and (same one) reheated again brought back 15 mins later with barely an apology. Should have been knocked off the bill. No lobster crackers. Condiments took ages to be brought. Wrong wine brought (more expensive). Water filled for only half the table. Gave up trying to get waiter's attention. Embarrassed to have chosen what I thought would be a nice restaurant for very good friends. No doubt the service was overwhelmed but having more or bigger jugs left on the table would have been a simple improvement as well as the right cutlery and a more service oriented attitude when things go wron...

Skylon is a cucumber. The location with stunning wide view is hard to beat, but you literally pay for it. The staff is welcoming and attentive (except for the non-intake of coats that are difficult to accentuate at the tables). The prices of Skylon, especially on drinks, are above the top for the offered fare. Skylon is the 'Brasserie ' End' of the room, but two of us still have £150 for 2 courses per and a £40 bottle of wine paid between us (one of a few 'influencable' options on the list . My halibut was delicious, but inevitable tepid it was cooked OK so must sit around before you go to the table. Frankly, if I have to spend so much in the future to enjoy this place, I will stay at Skylon...

I used to really like Skylon it was somewhere you took someone for a special treat a real destination. But times have changed, there is so much more competition around I can’t help feeling that Skylon has faded a little. It still has potential; it still could be great, but on this occasion, it fell short of the mark. Maybe it was just the January blues, or maybe because most people were probably dining on the ES offer menu, but the staff seemed tired and lacking in energy, food service was very slow, and little touches were missing (for example, water wasn’t topped up, and even when we asked, it took over 10 minutes).
