"Soya Woking Overall We visited there last week during Easter Holiday. Not very busy when we arrived here so you don’t need to book the table if you want to have dinner in there. We order: Superior Platter Including:8 Pcs sashimi, 8 pcs nigiri, tobiko gunkan, 8 pcs tuna avocado rolls; Served with miso soup. And they gave us one extra miso soup for us which is very welcome and very friendly! The whole thing is very delicious and very filling. And the price is amazing and worth to pay. All sashimis are great and taste fresh. Kimchi pancake A little bit too dry and some of the pancakes are a bit burnt in another side. Korean Spicy Crispy Squid Spicy crispy Squid is my all time favourite! "

After New Malden branch closed down we visited Woking already few times. Never disappointed with food or service. Prawns and veggies in tempura to die for.

Had our first dinner at Soya in Woking and our experience was very good. Staff was nice, approachable and quick. Food was delicious and definitely will come back.

I've visited this restaurant numerous times, and I've never been let down. The sushi and spicy dishes are absolutely fantastic. There's a great variety of options available, and everything I've tried has been delicious. Ver carta

The food is very good my family love it so much. Just I noted the waitress watched her watch in front of us from time to time since we walked in the restaurant. Maybe it is me too senstive we arrived the restaurant just an hour before its closing time in the afternoon. This made me feel rushed to finish the meal.

We went for lunch and tried the Korean BBQ. The meal consisted only of meat and rice, with no side options listed on the menu. I requested kimchi, which they did have, and they also suggested bean sprouts. However, the service felt unwelcoming, and they didn't make much effort to offer recommendations. We ended up ordering two BBQ portions each, as one serving was not sufficient.

Service was a little questionable dining in. Staff were a bit rude. One staff literally just stopped talking to us at one point mid order and went off somewhere. Same person also poured beer everywhere while serving and walked off. As for the food, the okonomiyaki wasn’t okonomiyaki No aonori or cabbage). Tasted nice though. Katsu curry was also the wrong kind of curry, but the katsu was nice and crispy. A bit disappointed sadly : Ver carta

Went there for New Year’s Eve. The food was probably the worst attempt at Japanese or Korean I have eaten in the UK. I tried the katsu yaki soba (which is not a real Japanese or Korean dish) and basically it was flavourless and felt like cheap take Away food. Tried the kimchi stew and it was drenched in spice and un drinkable. Service was pretty poor too. Will not go back again. Definitely not value for money. Feels like the owners have no idea what Japanese or Korean food is about.

I have visited Soya many times, and the food has always been excellent. However, during my most recent visit, the staff weren't particularly helpful or friendly. They didn't have a high chair available, which made things quite challenging for us, so I likely won't return with my child in the future. On the positive side, the food was delicious, and I appreciated the complimentary items that were served before the main course, like the tempura and miso soup. The service was prompt, and they did accommodate us by providing a larger table since we had kids with us.

"Disappointed to have booked and not be warned about the mezze being the only available option. Told when sat down. Not much option but to accept. Food great. Tried to charge for each of us there were adults and an year old and year old despite agreeing to do deal for the of them when we ordered. When asked for the bill I was over charged. They didn’t leave bill on table and just tell you the value and present the card machine immediately. I queried and he went to alter. I paid. I realised that in fact they had charged more than the first time. I ended up having to ask for a print out of the bill on my way out. He gave it to me. It wasn’t even our bill plus they’d charged for the set menu!!?!?!!. I wrote down what we had eaten and drank and we added it up properly together and he had indeed overcharged by He couldn’t refund the card and so gave cash. Lush food. If you go please check what’s on offer before you go. Then insist that the bill if left on your table like in a normal restaurant. This gives the customer the time to check all is well before paying. I really felt the chap was trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Don’t let them! He did the same to another table which had a couple and a young child of about or Charged The excuse was that he couldn’t deduct dine in because we only wanted set menus. Rubbish. We have eaten out all month in the scheme in restaurant in bristol and in central London and this is the only time I’ve heard this tosh. Chap could put whatever he wanted into the till ...it’s his restaurant. of us dined. x to come of bill. I found the whole invoicing experience poor and embarrassing."
