"Booked in advance at Spice Garden Indian Restaurant and was looking forward to an authentic Indian meal. Since it was our first visit, we are not sure what to expect, but it has not disappointed. At first impressions, the interior was very impressive to say the least. We were shown around the bar/restaurant and had a drink while we admire the gardens. We then looked at the menu and it all started to go from there....On the menu there were only 2 Indian meals Chicken Madras and Chicken Masala the authentic Indian meal dream was at the end. We enjoyed our drinks and made polite excuses. The spice Indian garden was definitely short of an Asian starter/dinner, so a Spice Garden restaurant is misleading and disappointing."

Service very slow, so no time for dessert. Nor agree to be forced to pay a service fee should be at the discretion of the customer. Wouldn't recommend it.

Excellent service from friendly pleasant staff. Beautiful restaurant and decor in hotel. Delicious food that was piping hot, though not too spicy. A little draughty sitting near the door. Will definitely go again.

eating is very good. the staff is polite, always smiling and ready to accommodate. I was there to my birthday and received a complementary small bottle prosecco, which was a very thoughtful gesture. I recommend it very much!

this jewel found during the stay in borehamwood. my man and I visited from toronto, ontario, kanada and wanted to eat an Indian. this place was not disappointed. the food was delicious and the staff was very polite and friendly. if they are in the neighbourhood, check them out!

We had a really fabulous meal in this restaurant. The food was very tasty, beautifully presented and the service was not rushed yet too slow. The observatory was obviously a complete professional who was polite and friendly, but not overlaid and not the need to ask it was all right as he was confident that it was! My only surprise of the evening was that it was so quiet on a Friday, maybe we were early diners!

A significant lack of staff presence had been booked in advance. Arrived and there were no employees who could be seen everywhere, finally a lady arrived and showed us on a table. Then we waited for 20 minutes before they brought a menu and a wine list. At this point we asked for parrots to stop us. No background music and very dark. Had to ask for a wine cooler who was full of ice so that the bottle could not really be laid. Food was excellent, very enjoyed appetizers and net. No dessert of coffee was offered and then had to wait 20 minutes until they took the money. Could have just run out without paying because no staff manipulates the restaurant.

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
