"I have been here a few times for lunches with friends, celebrate my birthday with a few friends (12) with hot drinks diff yummy cakes (March 2022). Good choice lunch menu we had tuna sandwiches smoothies. Staff lovely can't do enough for you. Thanks to Lily(who is off to Uni) Biancia who changed gluten free pasta kids menu to fish fingers as pasta stuck like glue..... needs to have boiling water poured on top onced cooked little olive oil over it, but tom sauce needed some cheese on top too. We had burger, quiche mushroom bacon very yummy X 2, hot/cold drinks, cakes were lovely too, toffee, coffee walnut, but I had the bake well tart as it has least cals..... Don't forget to get your reward card stamped with your hot drinks as get a free 1 after 10 stamps. Thanks to all the staff sorry forgotten your names..... Garden centre lovely to walk around in/out door, fab gifts too. Plenty of free parking too."

Lovely lunch with a friend. We had a jacket potato with plenty of prawns and salad and an Orzo pasta salad with prawns, both good sized portions and really tasty. Fast service, friendly staff …..couldn’t ask for more! (Great to see calories on the menus too.

I live close to Squires Hersham so I’m always popping in with family and friends for lunch or tea and cake. It’s a lovely cafe with great staff who are always so kind, helpful and friendly. I love the food too (especially the gluten free lemon cake). Highly recommended.

We tried the set menu Christmas lunch with 9 people. The turkey roast was a large portion and cooked to perfection. The salmon was excellent. The desserts were tasty and beautifully arranged. The orange sorbet was outstanding. No complaints at all. I highly recommend it.

We used to frequent this restaurant for breakfast for years, but have recently stopped going because every time we have gone in the past few months, they have told us they don't have eggs. We believe they need to update their menu to accurately reflect what they have available. Ver carta

Very disappointed several of the brilliant staff have left . The service is very poor now we were there Sunday 25th June . The manageress needs to smile she does not look happy in her job. Bianca the other Manager is very pleasant at all times..We usually go most Sundays but not anymore . Angela Doyle

I came here Saturday with my family, our waitress Jane was very helpful and friendly, the food was ok although very expensive. The thing that dampened our experience was the manager I believe her name is Rebecca, she was very rude, the staff was very busy and all I could hear and see is a bell ring and her shouting service. Shame to see as Jane was great. This isn’t my first trip here and This manager is always very rude to both staff and customers.

Upon entering the cafe, a sign informed customers that the service would be slow due to staff shortages. The manager was rather rude, as she did not greet us before informing us of the wait time for our takeaway drink. Additionally, she was seen bossing around a younger waiter. I found her attitude to be appalling and felt frustrated that I had to spend money in such an unpleasant environment. It's clear that the lack of manners and poor attitude of the manager contribute to the staff shortages at the restaurant. Ver carta

Having been before, out with elderly mum as she wanted to have a look at plants so thought wd combine with lunch in cafe. 12.10, abt 3 tables used , but no availability as every other table reserved. Staff suggested we went shopping, and popped back, so 30 mins later, abt 5 tables full, rest all empty, but reserved. This surely isn't a profitable way to run a garden centre cafe??? And , honestly neither I or my husband would even attempt to get into the cafe again if thats the way its run. Its not like its a high end restaurant...surely, more efficient to have walk ins, and only book 50% of tables

Myself, my mum and my sister came to the cafe on Sunday late afternoon. As we walked to the counter, before even saying hello, the lady with the long braids abruptly said “it’s table service only!” and that “there’s a big wait due to staff shortages!” We then said okay and asked roughly how long the wait would be and she rudely said “well I’m not going to tell you how long it’s however long it takes!”. We immediately left. No customer service skills whatsoever. Clearly a very miserable woman who needs to get a life. Feel sorry for the people that have to work with such an arrogant, stuck up, miserable person every day! She should get a job as a traffic warden she definitely has the right per...

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
