"We were in Stranraer on Sunday 12/07/2020 and decided to have use this facility We ordered a Chicken Supper and a Single Chicken and we saw they were selling cakes so we ordered a Strawberry Tart and a piece of Drizzel cake and a bottle of Diet Coke. We were charged £18.50 which we thought was a bit expensive but being out for the day we accepted the same costs. We left the facility and went towards our car only to be shouted at that we had forgotten to lift our bottle of Diet Coke so we went back to get it only to be advised that we had still to pay for it !!! We questioned the prices as we did think it was expensive initially but to be asked further for more money it was thought require costing. We were advised that Single Chicken was £6 and the Chicken Supper was £7 ??? We looked the board only to see the costs were advertised at £5 and £6 !! When we then asked the price of the cakes we were advised that they were £2 and £3.50 When we stated this fact the individual serving a small black haired chap with a moustache became very aggressive and stated that he had to make a profit. I said that we could go across the road to Tesco and get a box of Strawberry Tarts for £2 he again said i need to make a profit. He then asked me to give him £1.50 and he would give me back the £20 i gave to him for the goods. Never again would we use this place There was not even any masks or visors being used by the staff nor were there screens. A wholly bad experience to say the least with the person serving of whom we were advised was the owner being a complete ignoramus. They do not deserve to get custom. Incedetally there was people in the seating area eating"

Naughty nibbles and treats. Lovely staff and a sensibly priced. So enjoyable we visited twice. Sounds crazy but the battered pizza was lovely!

Dropped in for coffee and baguette amazing service and food. Called back next evening for pizza and chap was a bit off as was the pizza am afraid

This try’s to be more than a chippy with an extensive menu but really they need to get back to basics and try to be a good a chippy. Poor food quality and very poor service.

Went in for a takeaway, we were completely ignored, waited a bit to give them a chance. Some body came in about 5 mins after us they came straight over to him asked what he wanted!!! Invisibility cloak maybe?? PS gave it one star because I couldn’t give it 0.

Met a,friend went to starfish what i had was awful and very salty some items were not available till after 12 a lot of staff have changed and also no details were took for contact and trace sorry wont be back to sit in again this place has really went downhill

Hadnt had fish and chips from here for years. You know when you go back somewhere with a great memory and you feel let down and dissappointed well not here. Still great fish and chips and good portion sizes. Easy to walk down from to the harbour and sit and eat looking at the boats.

We have used the Starfish many times when on holiday in the area. Food has always been great. This time had to walk out! Not prepared to purchase food in a takeaway where there seemed to be no measures to ensure staff and customers were protected from this dreadful virus. Shame loved the place!

Had lunch with four friends 3 off us ordered homemade lasagne and 1 fish tea not one of us ate the lasagne I complained that it was a dry we couldn’t eat it so my plate was taken away I went to pay and was charged for it all , I questioned this and the lady behind the till who’s customer service is nil not a nice person at all and then the manager owner) came and told me to get out and has barred me his customer care skills were atrocious will never recommend this place at all thank god they barred me

I visited Starfish with my family on Weds 26th of August at 5pm.We had booked online as it was listed on Eat out to help out . Myself, my daughter and adult Granddaughters were on holiday from Derby to visit family, all were present. We all had fish and chips... Worst ever... The chips were pale and some uncooked, the fish tasted nothing like cod and the batter was thick and rubbery. It would not cut and had to be torn apart!! The final insult was realising my daughter had been charged full price, not the 50% off as advertised. We will never go there again...!!
