"We booked a table for 7 easily for Saturday night. The staff were very welcoming. We chuckled to ourselves when we were seated as it was not in the shiny interior (as shown online but outside on the side road with the cardboard recycling. Nevertheless, it was THE place to be and we were comfortable (and we could enjoy the full moon! . There were customers waiting for a table but the inside tables were empty. The menu was short (good and in Italian only. We enjoyed the challenge of working out what was on offer through knowledge and a bit of help from our trusty mobile devices. The food was very very good. Everyone really enjoyed all their courses. It was honest unfussy food made with love, care and skill. The caponata was rich and unctuous (which came cold when I was expecting ambient. I don't know if it's meant to be chilled but it didn't dull the flavour and was quite refreshing because the weather was hot . The seafood cous cous was delicious but defeated me (it came with an unexpected side soup/sauce to ladle on with extra seafood . I had mandarin sorbet and it was a wonderful palate cleanser. I had a taste of the basil panacotta and it was superb! Our steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The favourite dish was the ravioli with salmon, prawns and basil pesto cream sauce. The wine was excellent. The service was quite fast with our food and very relaxed when bringing the (hand-written bill. We weren't in a rush though. The prices are astonishing. We ate very well for a great price. All in all, one our favourite meals we had during our visit to Sicily and will be remembered fondly."

"Firstly, it’s in the middle of no where. When you finally reach it, the welcome is cold and informal. The restaurant itself is cold, with no atmosphere, playing awfully dreary music. The staff are robotic, with no personality. Our sommelier was without any passion or realistic understanding of his clientele. As the tasting menu continued, he was more interested in chatting to his work colleague than topping up our glasses. We decided on the modern tasting menu, which was a take on classic Sicilian dishes. Most were underwhelming. The fact that the customer is not informed what the menu contains, to me, is ridiculous. There were several courses that I wouldn’t eat normally, if I had been informed that I was going to be served them. I was offered an alternative, but such fuss was made about this situation, that I felt declining was the easiest option. This was definitely the most expensive mistake of my otherwise lovely trip to Sicily."

"Ricette tramandate da padre in figlio per più di ottant'anni che voglio immaginare abbiano mantenuto i sapori e gli ingredienti di sempre così posso spiegare a me stessa la meraviglia della loro pasta con le sarde, probabilmente la più buona in assoluto che io abbia mai mangiato. Un salto indietro nel tempo con l'uovo sodo e il bicchierino di zibibbo non appena si prende posto al tavolo, ottimi gli involtini di pesce spada e ledelicate sarde a beccafico. La cassata al forno un trionfo per il palato. Personale gentile e competente,buon servizio. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Consigliatissimo"

The burger was also very good. choice of interesting wines. all of this is due to the availability, professionalism and courtesy of the staff. fast service and right price. highly recommended."
