"At the recommendation of an Indian colleague we visited SWAGAT. We were very lucky to be seated within five minutes without reservations. Others were not so lucky and apparently had to wait for close to an hour. I must say that waiting five minutes was worth it, but I definitely would not have waited more than fifteen minutes. On our way out we saw a large group of people waiting for a table, so the place must be quite popular. The restaurant is a maze of rooms, and after winding our way through, we ended up in possibly the farthest room in the house. It was a cozy and nicely decorated room if a bit cramped. We shared a long table with another group with little space to place the dishes of food. Service was friendly and excellent. One of us had a thali with chicken, and he thought it was really good. Another had aloo Bombay which was very flavorful, and also got some thick nan. I had the dal makhni which was OK but not as well seasoned as I would have liked. I had some roti as well. We shared a huge platter of steamed rice. All three meals had large portions, and we did not leave hungry. They had a good selection of beers and wines, and we ended with mango schnapps on the house. We will return but will also make sure to make reservations."

By far the best Indian in Munich. I've been really in many restaurants, but no one can get to this restaurant! It's a good pain that the tables are very close together. Vegetarian dishes are basically recommended, just like the Maracuja Lassi!

supper here with friends (all Italians, but one who lives in a monk and knew the place). cute Indian restaurant, full even in an evening any weekday, abundant portions, all very good. even if there was the menu in English, it would help a greater description of the dishes at the time they brought them. the swagat was recommended to us by an Indian colleague. you can sit nicely outside, the service was quite friendly and courteous (other than a few other comments here). The food was good, the lamb very tasty and spicy, the chicken unfortunately somewhat fad.Altogether good, although for us not the best in the dunes.

Have ordered take-away but was very good. Food was, as ordered (partially) pleasantly sharp, good spice mixtures, all top. Especially the Naan/Hefeteigbrote are highly recommended, fluffy light and homemade. Unfortunately, the portions came in a lot of aluminum foil and polystyrene, but until here it will definitely take a bit. Free also came 1x rice and chapatis with 3 dips for an order of 50€, thank you!

Super nice staff very attentive and funny Had a little boy of my girlfriend with whom they entertained and sometimes too short with him played, there was also a lolli. The food was as always very delicious and the Indian Chai is also highly recommended as well as the vegetarian thalis. Also to notice is the beautiful aquarium in the inner areas with very beautiful living corals and totally beautiful fish. Service top Essen top Ambiente top Gerne over and over again

we have been coming here for at least 10 years when we're in a little bit. I don't know what happened, when the food tastes clearly different and lets the otherwise great flavor miss. instead of this any green cooked spicy and elongated green threads in my hot-loved chicken tikka Masala-vom tandoori was somehow nothing to feel. the panade of the fried tweepers was also too thick and not really delicious. the service also naja, but this is unfortunately used here. I think I'm finally giving up

"Indian restaurants are becoming almost as ubiquitous in Munich as Italian restaurants lately, or so it would seem. So why did I give this one get 5 stars? In part because Yelp doesn't allow for half star ratings and I didn't feel right giving four after my wonderful dinner experience there and the excellent meals my guy has had there before me. Kamasutra is close to his work and we had dinner here after him and work friends raved about this place for lunch. They've only been open for about three months but it's a regular lunch stop for them now. One thing I noticed early on, they do not take shortcuts. Great care is put into food and service. The menu is varied, good selection of wine and cocktails too. Service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. The interior is more modern and sleek than most Indian resto's. But what about the FOOD? We were in curry heaven. I had a jumbo shrimp curry and he had a chicken vindaloo. Sauces for both were rich, had complex, nuanced flavors and were not greasy or oily. And when they say spicy, they mean spicy, so for those of you lamenting the lack of proper spice level, make your way here NOW. If you don't want your curry toned down for the German palate, do have some here. Lovely garlic naan, very generous serving of good basmati. Delicious mango cream for dessert and real chai that wasn't syrupy sweet. Kamasutra is a real gem and a welcome addition to Munich."
