"We used to rate the Taj highly. But not after our latest visit. In a nutshell, to save you reading further, the staff were disinterested and rarely left the counter. The manager took umbrage at being asked to replace a bad drink. And the food was neither tasty nor hot. We arrived at 6.30 and the place was empty. As the manager passed I pointed out that my bottle of Sparkling Water was totally flat. We said it was Sparkling because it said so on the label and I'd got what I ordered. He then said that I'd opened it and poured it so I'd accepted it. And it wasn't his fault that there were no bubbles. He said if we wanted to leave that was OK. It seemed that unhapppy customers leaving didn't faze him. However my bottle was grudgingly replaced with a good one. The staff, and manager, appeared to be completely disinterested in what they were doing. They just went through the motions. It was really odd. The menu hails the great Chef Abdul. It must have been his day off. Sauces from supermarket bottles are better than those we had. We all commented that our meals were neither tasty nor spicy. And not heat-hot. It pains me to write a damning review but this place needs a wake-up call. We'd love to see it get back to what it used to be."

Been a couple of times and I’m impressed beautiful food good service,karmando chicken lovely... I’m fussy and the best Indian around Abdul knows his stuff I highly recommend

If you want a take away from here, please be aware the portions are getting so small you will be able to eat it with a tea spoon. The food its self is ok but very expensive for what you get.

We’re regular guests /diners tried a few Indian restaurants this is by far the very best, food excellent staff lovely, it’s a pleasant experience to be cooked for by a top chef not a cook highly recommended!!!

We cannot recommend highly enough, the food is always great , the service is friendly and they have a fantastic selection to choose from on the menu They don’t currently have a license so soft drinks only , but they seemed ok when we took our own Cannot praise then enough Ver carta

Absolutely fuming ordered a curry at 6.26 for delivery was told the latest would be 7.30 so at 7.50 I called to find out how much longer it would be and was told it wasn’t ready and would be another 20 mins (I live 5 mins drive from the restaurant) the manager was so rude and told me he said 7.30-8 which was a total lie if that would of been the case then I wouldn’t have called at 7.50! No apology was given I’m Surprised they have any customers

Was taken to the Taj with some friends and have since gone for our second visit. The food eas excellent and very friendly staff. The chicken was cooked perfectly, so many indian restaurants serve it really tough but this was just right. My Masala sauce again was perfect and my wife said the same about the Ceylon. Bajis to die for. Decor is really nice and very sociable tables. Now looking forward to our next visit to introduce some other friends.Thank you

We called in on the way home and wow! The restaurant has good parking, and as soon as you open the door the service is incredible , attentive, professional but not over bearing. The restaurant is light with modern decor, and a good varied selection of dishes on the menu. Best popadoms and dips ever! The ingredients for the main meals are good quality and the sauces superb, tasty, fragrant and not over bearing. This has now become our g to Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurant in Medway. Just amazing. After a busy week decided to have a meal out. Had been to Taj before but not for years, so thought we would try it again (was never disappointed before). No Alcohol licence which wasn't the end of the world but would have been nice to have been told beforehand. Sunday evening, so should have been good service, restaurant very quiet. We felt more attention was focused on takeaway/deliveries than people in house. An HOUR for our main meal to arrive!! Was about 5 minutes away from paying for what we had had and walking out. Food was nice but not as good as I remember, Shozna and Poppadom much nicer and similar price. Staff ok but not overly interested we felt, the whole experience was disappoin...

Thursday May 5th 2022 a large group of us (20 booked an evening meal as an end of season treat for our football club. On arrival the tables were already prepared so as not to disturb the other diners (we were all well behaved of course! . There were no restrictions as to what we could eat and left it to them to provide us with starter and mains and we were not disappointed. Starters were mixed and delicious and the mains were varied, plentiful with side dishes, breads and sauces of excellent quality. Cleaning away and delivery of servings to the table was spot on.
