The Sunday lunch was really good my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were very attentive making sure we had everything we needed I would definitely recommend the roast .

Just had a fantastic meal at the tavern we were a family of eight the food was so good hot and really tasty the staff were helpful and did everything to make your meal perfect so thank you all we will be back

We havent been to the Tavern for ages and we realky enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and worked really hard and the food was delicious. When we arrived, we didnt have to wait and was shown to our table straight away. Would recommend the Tavern. Ver carta

The food was nice cooked well, the steak prices are rather high, they are miller and carter priced but definitely not the quality. The plates were miss matched, and the tannoy system they have introduced lowers the tone a bit bit overall the establishment is pleasant and the staff are lovely.

Called in on off chance at 8.30pm on Christmas Eve as we had travelled up from Devon. Didn't really expect to get served but the lady we met was a delight sorry don't know her name). Did us last minute fish and chips despite set menus all night) and made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much.

This was our go to restaurant for Sunday lunch but the last two occasions the food has been disappointing, the beef very fatty, the staff seem disillusioned and the prices increased massively. A bowl of soup £7 and it is always Pea and Ham no variety anymore. Heard the restaurant is up for sale, so clearly there are problems. Ver carta

We was here on Sunday, 6 of us and we all enjoyed our food lasagne, gammon, cheese pie,fish n chips,and 2 roast beef dinners It is not the cheapest of places but the service is good and it has a nice feel about it If you are thinking of going check that it is open first, as it is closing on Sunday 21st May and will be taken over by new people so not sure when it will open again Would I go again ? Yes I think I will give it a go whe it reopens to see what it is like John

We had a fantastic afternoon at the Tavern, service was amazing and the food was outstanding. Only heard they did Afternoon Tea when we came for a meal last month, but we will be telling everyone about it. Hoping to make this a regular thing. Such a lovely ambience, staff are amazing and a great team, the service and food has always been outstanding when we have been for meals in the past, but the Afternoon Tea is a fantastic addition. We felt really special. We look forward to future visits!

Just visited the Tavern for our office Christmas party. We have been a number of times before either with work colleagues or friends and family. Each time we have found the quality and service quite good, as we have on this visit, although must say more expensive than other restaurants. However on our visit this evening you wouldn't have thought it was the Christmas season no Christmas music playing in the background or crackers on the tables, just plain, cheap serviettes. We requested some sort of music a few times but it fell on deaf ears. No doubt times are hard for these businesses and they are always looking on how they can make cuts, but surely spending a little on what I have mentione... Ver carta
