"i have been to the tea room at Kiplin Hall 3 times now, last year 2017 was rubbish because of no supervision of the teenagers they employed and the silly ipad type of ordering, neither of which worked. I have just been for the first time this year and it was a lot better organised, the waiting staff were more 'on the ball ', polite and paper ordering pads, so ok at the moment. the lady at the till was more polite than last year 's very rude lady, the cheese scone and tea were ok. the toilet is ok, but could be cleaner, the outside toilets they have are not good at all, cold and unclean and it 's the beginning of the season so should not be like that. the manager 's of Kiplin Hall needs to get their act together and get some cleaning done and keep it clean, and the 'doggy ' smell in the back hall where the toilets are (inside) is not good and was the same last year, which is why we didn 't go back after our 2 bad visits."

The restaurant offers a good variety of food and drinks at affordable prices. The service was a bit confusing, but the setting was beautiful and the staff was friendly. We tried the tea and scones, which were delicious.

Went along for the opening day of the Tea Room and was very pleasantly surprised with the menu and quality of service. Food came out within 15 minutes, just right, all hot and nicely garnished. Definitely coming back again later in the season!

Eating at the Kiplin Hall Tea Room is a delightful experience. Food is freshly made and served by friendly, helpful staff. The home-made ice-cream is a treat not to be forgotten! Cake made on the premises is among the very best in Yorkshire. If you are visiting North Yorkshire, do not miss the Tea Room at Kiplin Hall. You will not be disappointed!

We arrived at 10am for coffee before our guided tour. Our stickers on tables that where set ready for us but then it started to fail young staff didn't seem to got the orders correct. Decaffeinated coffee normal asked for two jugs of decaffeinated brought. On another of our tables tea coffee required but just coffee. Young staff need some training. Ver carta

Went to kiplin to see the flower festival. Very nice flower displays. Had coffee and scones in tea room. No menus on table and scones were not fresh that day but coffee was good. Waiting staff seemed a little disorganised and not familiar with how to operate a laptop so we could pay. Not impressed by sugar cubes being stored by the public toilets or boxes of crockery.

Our coach party called here for lunch break,we needed two coffee's as I had packed a picnic up.coffee duly arrived in caffetiers with milk and cups and saucers,we could not sit in tearoom and eat our food so I got a tray and we went to little green where there was tables and chairs it was lovely coffee and enjoyed sitting in sunshine.Went back to pay and looked at menu, was so pleased we had picnic as price of sandwiches was so expensive, really think £4or £5 is limit to buy a sandwich not nearly £7. Coffee was good though at only £5 for two.

I'm sure that I speak for the many who took the trip to Kiplin Hall last Thursday (31st Aug), when I say what a thoroughly enjoyable experience it was.The place is closed on Thursdays and Fridays for organized outings, such as ours, and I'm sure that this is where their expertise lies. Tea and coffee layed on on arrival, followed by a short talk on the history of the place. And then a guided tour followed by a high tea-type lunch. The afternoon was left to us to explore the surroundings, including the walled garden, the lake and numerous secluded areas. Marvelous time, can't thank you enough. Ver carta

Just inside the front door and open daily from February. Best to chose a 'comfy ' chair as some of the chairs are a little hard ! Nice clean table with an easy to follow menu. The two waitresses were most attentive and even ran after me with my forgotten walking stick. You get what you pay for and we had a most enjoyable afternoon tea all home baked. Sandwiches are served with an impressive garnish so again you get what you pay for. We did not see any children around but there are facilities freely available and there is a system where children can receive a portion of what their parents are eating but at a reduced price.

i have given 3 stars because the food is nice, but employing 3 teenagers to serve in the tea room is a silly idea, a lazy boy, and dippy girls, the ipads for ordering are a heck of a lot slower to use and really don't work in such a small tea room, there was no excuse for the 3 staff members not taking our order they went to 3 other tables before us that the people had arrived after us my daughter had to go and ask them to come over to us, there are only 8 tables so not exactly huge... we had finished eating our sandwiches before the drinks finally arrived... the toilets were dirty, the walls never washed and paper everywhere, not up to the standard they should be, it is what happens when no...

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be £15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them £15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
