"Open every day for lunch and dinner, this hard working Japanese restaurant deserves every ounce of the success it has. The food here is delicious, colourful, and relatively nutritious, while the setting is fairly simple, clean and informal with long tables and benches often shared with neighbouring groups. On the menu there's a choice of authentic Bento Boxes, Ramen, Yakisoba udon, Sashimi, Rice Gohan and various salads and side dishes pretty much everything you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant in the UK. With Bento Boxes from about £10 upwards, and Ramen from about £7, it's very reasonably priced as Japanese restaurants go. The only thing they don't do well is desserts but that's a common theme across all Japanese restaurants I've been to in the UK with Tenkaichi offering just one choice: a Japanese red bean pancake roll served with a plum sauce. It has firmly established itself as one of Cardiff's best and most reasonably priced Japanese restaurants, and as a result is hugely popular at lunchtimes as well as in the evenings so you may have to wait a short while for a seat at times. They also have a separate (but similar) takeaway menu."

This noodle bar type place is A1. I like the raw fish options. Check it out if you're ever in the area. You won't go wrong :

The service wasn't terrible, but my order was incorrect several times. The food was decent overall, with the gyoza and fried rice being highlights. However, I would recommend avoiding the sushi as it did not seem fresh and could possibly cause food poisoning. The beers we ordered seemed old.

Great variety of Japanese and Sushi food served in nice settings and quite central location, there is also a take-away. The reason I wouldnt award it higher marks is that it doesn't cater to vegetarians very much with only about 2 or 3 meal options and a few gyoza style items. Overall though it's a healthier option to most take aways and restaurants and worth checking out.

I loved this place in fact I'd go as far to say I liked their noodles more than I liked Wagamama's! There I said it controversial! It has that small business feel to it where the owners really care about your experience here they want you to have a nice time they give very good service and want you to have a nice meal. It means a lot to them. I've only been here once but it was busy and everyone I was with enjoyed plus we said we'd go back what more in the way of praise does a restaurant need apart from repeat business? Ver carta

Tenkaichi Sushi And Noodle Bar is an impressive restaurant that is loved by everyone. The high standards and affordable prices make it a popular choice. Sushi Nigiri is priced at around £2.30 for two pieces, Sushi Maki is generally below £4.00 for four pieces, and rolls average around £3.50. A ten piece platter of mixed Nigiri Sushi costs £10.30. Despite the variety of options on the menu, my friends and I always choose to order sushi when dining at Tenkaichi. The restaurant offers a comprehensive menu with high-quality food at unbeatable prices.

This restaurant is a game-changer when it comes to food. The first time I visited, it completely shifted my perspective, especially with their delicious raw fish which some may still have reservations about. Compared to other sushi restaurants, the prices here are very reasonable, and the only way to get a better deal would be to sacrifice quality and go to a buffet. Personally, I wouldn't recommend their noodles, as I typically don't order noodles at restaurants. However, for a truly authentic sushi experience, Tenkaichi offers a fantastic menu selection. As a fan of all things Japanese, this place is another excellent addition to the culinary scene.

I agree wholeheartedly with everything that Tiffany has said. It is absolutely delicious in every way. It does tend to be fairly busy (though not as crazy) on weekdays too. I would be prepared for a short wait if you go without calling in advance, though it doesn't seem to take long for you to be seated anyway. £12 is so reasonable for good good sushi. Don't be sucked into the lure of cheap prices from other sushi restaurants. Please, pay a little more (even if it's just as a treat every once in a while) and get some real sushi. I had only ever bought cheap sushi before and had loathed it. Then a friend showed me the error of my ways. Now, I love it beyond anything, Ver carta

This just has to be my favourite Japanese place in all of Cardiff. The menu is vast and offers something for even the pickiest of eaters. It's tiny and usually packed full of people so if it's a Friday or Saturday night probably best to phone in advance to avoid disappointment. There is a rich menu of noodles, sushi and rice dishes but I inevitably always opt for a bento box. For under £12 you can get a choice meat, fish or Veg fried or otherwise served with miso soup, salad, a few pieces of sushi, dumplings and a mound of steamed rice. It's really filling but doesn't make you feel lethargic, just satisfied. I'd probably have one every day if it wasn't so far from my house.

I remember when this place first opened a friend of mine worked a sales executive for a radio station selling air time and this was one of here clients. So to show a bit of support a few of us went along and I don't know why but I wasn't expecting much of course i was wrong (probably the 1st time ever! . The food is plentiful and very tasty indeed. I say plentiful but its still one of those places where you feel you could have eaten a lot more. It's also one of those places where you feel like approaching the chef and saying how did you make this? It's not a huge place and due to its popularity can get quite full at busy times so call a head evening and weekends and especially weekend evenin...

"It was the most bizarre experience dining here. First when we arrived in the restaurant, our group set up was that there was someone on each end who was sitting facing an empty chair on the other side of the table. Upon enquiry we understood it was a covid measure, however never had any other restaurants requesting such seating arrangements in the past 20 months. We ordered two split pots, a non-spicy broth for one side of the pot and a spicy broth for the other side. The staff came to confirm that we wanted spicy/non-spicy in each pot. Yes, we said. To our shock when the pots came, one pot was spicy/spicy on both side, and the other was non-spicy/non-spicy on both sides. This was after the staff had came by to confirm that we wanted a spicy/non-spicy set-up, and in the usual situation a person wanting a spicy broth would not have asked for a split pot. We raised this to the staff and were clearly unhappy about it, though did not insist on having the broths changed around. What happened next made it the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience ever. From where we were sitting, we could hear the owner reprimanding the staff for the error, throughout our meal. We understand mistakes occur and if the owner was unhappy about the mistake and genuinely wanted to apologise, taking the initiative to change the broth to the right setup, or a complimentary drink or dish would have gone a long way. But no, he chose to reprimand the staff within our hearing for the whole dinner (which didn't help the situation one bit and made the experience worse! . We felt sorry for the staff. Even with the hospitality shortage, that was a completely wrong way to help the staff improve, nor help retain them in the long run. I don't remember anything about the food, although photos did show a good range to choose from. At the end of the meal we each received a box of hello panda, which might have helped, if not for the fact they were expired. All in all, would not recommend."
