Quail and Onions. All the kebabs are great, the quail especially so. Keep an eye out for the bread rubbed with kebab juices House salads are fantastic, charred onions in sumac is a winner.

There's something commendably unapologetic about the way Testi, an Ocakbasi grill in Stoke Newington, displays it's most (in)famous ingredient in their front window. There, pride of place in one of those glass cabinets a high-street kebab shop may use to

...personal highlight was a platter of sigara böreği (top left picture): typical fried filo pastry rolls, with a smooth cream cheese filling. Served warm, the have a pleasantly delicate taste, and achieve the perfect balance of outer crispness and inner softness.... Ver carta

the amount of food. eating is a good value for money that we went to dinner, but I'm not a big car lover. the portions are huge, but I would rather be quality compared to quantity. we went there because there was a lot of vote in the city spoon, but I wouldn't go back.

The lamb, as shown, was indeed juicy and didn't need any sauces because the seasoning was spot on. However, when I accidentally poured some of the sauce from the house special onion salad, I was pretty mindblown. Lamb and pomegranate? It's a marriage that lasts a good run on your palate.

hugely overrated. service haphazard, but this is not the problem. the problem is: order a whole grilled baby huh and they get a whole grilled baby huh minus the boobs that were clearly chopped off. they fell down, in the grill the waiter told me, and he didn't laugh. neither do I, and I will not go back. yes, they do balls, which is interesting, and the prizes are not high. but only for the chicken experience I conclude that this place is a torn. we have tried some of the Turkish restaurants in stoke newington and dalston, and we are always coming to testi. the meat is excellent and the brot that is served together is simply fantastic. it is grilled over the hot bbq coals and is dipped with the taste of grilled meat. the portions are generous, and the salads that come with their net are as exciting as the main thing itself. the service is always brilliant. these youngs always teach us, no matter how busy they are, even if we show up without booking. the service can sometimes be quite moderate, but its never done with overmight or restless. these youngs run a tight ship, and its very lively and lively restaurant in...more

You've gotta have some balls to hang testicles on your window and call it one of your recommeded dishes, right A few blogger buds and I went to a Turkish restaurant in Stoke Newington called Testi, where one of the chef's recommended dishes is a main portion of lamb testicles. I wondered if it was all eponymous, but according to one of the servers testi means jug in Turkish and there's a classic type of kebab cooked in jugs over fire (which I didn't think was in the menu). Interesting Naturally, we had to have hummus and it was deliciously creamy with just the right amount of texture and tang.
