"I wasn't going to write a review but I saw this had 4.5 which is a lie in my opinion. From the moment I entered the restaurant it was dead even tho there was people inside. I was sat with my friend literally felt like the same table as the other white couple and was really uncomfortable. I could hear a pin drop in the restaurant. No atmosphere at all. Table service was abysmal I had to get my waitresses attention I wasn't sure if she was going to take our order I felt abandoned. Food was INEDIBLE my prawns still had there heads on so the brains was squrting everywhere. My tomyum soup was separated I could barely breath there was so much chilli but I was so hungry I had to eat something. My tempura prawns were like corn dog prawns with the head left on!! I took a bite into prawns brains. I was almost sick. And lastly they had nothing I wanted on there menu but didn't tell.me this I was very disappointed and embarrassed as I had to choose things I didn't want cos I qas hungry and in the end my Noodles were sticking together smothered in oil tasted bland and rancid. I took them back as I couldn't eat it. Was disgusting my friends food looked like toilet water. I will not be going back and people deserve to know how bad this restaurant is. Please don't waste your money I had so many high expectations but was let down hard. Waste of money and way over priced. If u have no taste buds or standards will enjoy this place"

Excellent authentic Thai food, had the Kauy Jap and Tom Yam both were exquisite and generous portions. You will struggle to find better authentic Thai food anywhere in the North East.

Thai House Cafe is my favorite spot in Newcastle, and it’s not hard to see why. The food is amazing and authentic, the portions are big, and staff is always friendly! It’s a must-visit in Newcastle if you want to try Thai food!!!

Very authentic Thai street food cafe. It’s not fancy and no tablecloths. But the food is absolutely delicious. It’s real Thai food and it’s full of Thai diners. A lot of Thai students eat here. The staff are very kind and friendly. It’s not too expensive. 2 people can gave a nice meal for under £40. If you like Thai food, it’s definitely the place to go. Ver carta

Best Thai food we have ever had at very reasonable prices. We opted for prawn tempura, pork wontons, chicken satay, prawn Pad Thai and beef Penang curry with coconut rice. All flavours were amazing and all ingredients fresh. Lovely service, we arrived late on lunch service and whilst advised the kitchen was closing soon never felt rushed to finish our meal. We will certainly be back to explore more on the extensive menu.

The food at this place is absolutely delicious. Sooo authentic I felt like I was back in Thailand!!! An amazing assortment of classic, local Thai dishes to choose from (including delicious Thai tea drinks!! . Staff were absolutely delightful and very helpful with me (I have to check foods because of my allergies . The atmosphere was super relaxed and casual, defo a great spot for a chilled lunch or dinner with friends. 1000/1000 HIGHLY recommend

Was our second visit to this little gem. To be honest we weren’t impressed this time round. I had Tom yum soup which was absolutely amazing highly recommended. For my main I had chicken Penang which wasn’t right at all it had an overpowering taste of some kind of herb which was disappointing but was still really nice don’t get me wrong just wasn’t the Penang I’m used too. £6.95 for prawn crackers is expensive imo however the iced coffee I had was lovely beat one I’ve ever had can’t recommend this place enough Ver carta

We went after reading such great reviews on here as we were just visiting Newcastle. I’m so glad we did !! Absolutely beautiful food ! So authentic and delicious. The service was incredible too. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, we really felt like we had been before. We could tell there were lots of regulars in there too which says it all. The chef even came out and gave my youngest son extra spring rolls. The whole experience was heart warming and left an impression on us all. Also they were great at catering for the children and my eldest who has a peanut allergy. Wish we lived local as would definitely become regulars !

Very poor service, four of us ordered meals and drinks, 20 minutes later 3 of us got drinks. Had to ask for 4th drink. After 35 minutes 1 dish was placed on table no explanation of what it was. It did not look like our food. Asked where other food was and told on its way. 40 minutes in asked where food was as tables who ordered after us now had food. We were told 5 minutes. Asked again and told there had been a mistake and food would take another 10 minutes as the order had not been placed. By this time we had waited an hour and my son had eaten the dish put on the table as he needed to catch his train. Total shambles, asked to cancel meals and was told no they would be served in 15 minutes,...

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
