"Went here today 27th March 23 It was a treat from my daughter for me as part of my mother's day present It had been booked for 12 o'clock sitting for lunch 2 weeks ago for 3 people I was looking forward to it as I had never been here before We were sat down chose our drinks and our orders were taken The orders came about 12 30 we were then approached by the server at 12 50pm And was told they needed the table by 1pm and we could go up stairs to finish off our lunch at first we couldn't believe what she had asked even in a restaurant you get up to 2hrs at a table by 1pm the same server came back again and said they needed the table I really don't believe once you total have been sat down uou should have to move again no matter what issues arise from other bookings Surely they would have known this table was needed when they sat us down for our lunch so we should have been seated upstairs in the first instance totally unexceptable the way this was handled by a very in competent person and spoilt what should have been a lovely lunch with my family just less than an hour and getting shunted off your table total disbelief"

Excellent dog friendly cafe just down the road from a park that is marvellous for dog walking. Lovely cafe with excellent food and pleasant staff. Good value for money.

We visited The Bake House today for the first time, the menu was varied, there was something to suit everyone. Our food was delicious, we chose the all day breakfasts, they consisted of good quality ingredients and were cooked perfectly. We finished off with the Easter egg sundae special it was fantastic and we totally enjoyed the treat!

We came here for a works team meeting and prebooked with there being so many of us. I had never been here before so I wasn't expecting much by way of food or service!! Was I wrong to think that!! The food was amazing, and a lot more of it than I expected to receive the portions are beyond generous but absolutely delicious!! The staff are so friendly and helpful and offer an amazing service and the cakes are out of this world!! Thank you for helping to make our team meeting amazing!! The food itself was very nice, however our table of four waited for around 45 minutes for the first 2 meals to arrive. It then took asking two different staff members for the cutlery to come. Finally the last 2 meals arrived around 15 minutes after the first 2 came, by which time the first 2 had nearly finished. I appreciate anywhere can have busy days but you should be told when you walk in if there will be a long wait. However, the main reason for leaving a negative review, which I usually wouldn’t, is that when one of our party mentioned it to the front of house staff on our way out, they didn’t seem bothered in the slightest.

Visited on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch with a party of 5 people. Arrived at 12:15pm and meals only arrived at 1:10pm nobody mentioned about a delay when ordering. When the food did arrive only half of the meals turned up until 15 minutes later when the other meals arrived, by which time the first half had already finished. Also, the poached eggs were rock hard (see picture). Ordered a cup of tea with the meal, and was left waiting 20 minutes. The jugs of gravy on the Yorkshire burger were cold. It’s not the cheapest place and I would expect a better level of service or communication when you’re spending in excess of £100. Always loved The Bake House, we’re even collecting an Elf Box whil...
