"This Indian restaurant has been here for years so we tried it for a change. We found the staff were only helpful if you caught their attention. We were given jugs of water but weren’t asked if we wanted other drinks, which we did. The poppadoms came with two dishes of pickles at one end of the table and three at the other. When the poppadoms were almost finished they brought out another different pickle entirely. Some members of our party chose the buffet whilst others chose off the menu. The ones that chose off the menu had to wait 40mins for their food with no apologies, the restaurant wasn’t busy. The food was average. Very poorly organised, not once were we asked if we wanted any thing else or if we were happy with our meal. We won’t be returning."

We’ve been using this Balti for years. I must say we’ve never had a bad meal. Just had a take away delivered and it was superb, the food was very tasty, well cooked and good value.

Ordered a take away from here but food was bland and naan breads doughy. Ordered a cheese naan and hardly any cheese. Really disappointing meal, will go back to our regular place in future

I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The nan bread did not taste like authentic nan bread and seemed old. The rice and curry also tasted stale and lacked flavor. I would not order takeout from this place again. Ver carta

We ordered takeout last night and it had been a while since we had curry, but it did not disappoint. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth, the nan was soft and fluffy, and they had great vegan options. We can't wait to order from here again soon.

Twice this week we have been in and the food is A1 fantastic food and service. Ali and all his staff go out there way to look after you and provide you with top standard food and service. Nothing is ever a problem. Our favourite Indian and the only we one we ever return too. Well done guys x Ver carta

I had a delicious meal at the restaurant, including chicken tikka and rogan josh, medium hot. The garlic pilau rice, chips, pops, and scampi starters were all presented well and tasty. I was unsure about some menu items, but Ali (front of house) was helpful in explaining the ingredients and flavors. I have been coming here for nearly 20 years and always find something new to try, as well as meeting new people and making new friends. It's a lovely place!

Been going this Balti house for over 20 years now and still on point , 11 of us went and with in 5 minutes of sitting down the poppadoms and tray came out 20 spice 10 plain )soon as we ran out of any of the pickle tray more came out !Because it’s take your own alcohol it saves me a small fortune then going to a curry house where it’s £4 5 a pint when a took a case of Budweiser 24 for £10 .The mains came out piping hot all at the same time from mixed tandoori grill to tawa king prawns while the kids had korma massala .My favourite curry house , it’s very clean restaurant, clean toilets.

"We stayed for one night prior to a flight at East Midlands Airport and everything was excellent, from the warm, welcoming staff, to the rooms and the simply delicious food (evening and breakfast). Firstly the pub: food, drinks, restaurant… All excellent. The sign of a great pub for ale drinkers is one with knowledgeable staff who are keen to let you sample before deciding on a pint. This was the case here and we worked through all five real ales during the afternoon and evening! Also a great selection of wines, and everything served in the correct glasses I loved the attention to detail. Then the evening meal in the restaurant area of the pub: this was also excellent, with a great menu and top food, in plentiful portions. Really delicious all ‘round. We didn’t manage desserts but starters and mains all great. The pub/restaurant is well presented inside and out, with a lovely beer garden at the back. Secondly, the hotel rooms: we were in rooms 1 2 and both were lovely. They were well presented, comfy beds, nice hospitality tray (with fresh milk in the in room fridge), nice toiletries. The room rate included breakfast, which was all freshly cooked to order and once again, a great selection. I would 100% stay here again, especially if going to/from East Midlands airport which was less than a 10 minute drive. A lovely, traditional country Inn with excellent food and hospitality. Thank you to the full team."

"Nipped in for a quick bite on a Friday evening. We went up to what looked like the restaurant bar and asked if it was possible to get a table but were directed to the main bar to ask about this. The place was packed- getting served at the internal bar would have been a bit of a fight. Had a similar experience on a visit here before because there's not much space around the bar so you tend to get an impenetrable crowd instead of any sort of line. Eventually managed to get the attention of a member of staff and were told the restaurant was fully booked, however we could sit outside and order food at the bar to our outside table. Would have saved us some time if that was communicated through the team and relayed by the first person we asked instead of sending us to queue elsewhere. We did order to an outside table, and the food was excellent. The small pizzas really are quite small. But if you have a couple of sides they're perfect to not overstuff you. If you want to just eat pizza probably get a large. Also they had really interesting topping selections on the pizzas- I had the spiced aubergine, creme fraiche and honey. It was absolutely delicious. The chips were hot and well seasoned, the greek salad also really nice- I did miss the addition of peppers and would possibly remove the pea shoots and sub in the peppers to improve this and keep it more authentic though. Drinks were nice and the atmosphere inside was quite cosy and outside had a nice vibe with the tasteful lightning and wooden furniture. Would definitely return (but probably make a reservation. It's busy for a reason!"
