"What a lovely time we had here just a snack for the afternoon, and it was most excellent! It's not a big menu, but the food is so good it doesn't need to be. Their speciality is what they call a scioche someway between a scone and a brioche roll. I didn't have it but my Dad greatly enjoyed his! It came with cream, lemon curd and blueberries all beautifully presented and excellent quality. The rest of us had waffles and ohmygoodness they were delicious. Again, presentation was great and the taste was wonderful. My brother almost had a spiritual experience with his I think! The service was also great all the staff were very helpful and super friendly. I'm fairly certain we'll be back before the week is up highly recommend a visit here!"

Popped in whilst passing with the dog. Lovely food and drink. Clean and pleasant surroundings. The Spanish waitress was a delight and very friendly.

If you are in Keswick go to the Bench for a delicious (locally blended) coffee just off Bell Close Car Park. Great welcome, super surroundings and fascinating to watch the jewellers at work. Well worth a visit. Ver carta

The customer service was 10/10 and was matched by the food. So good we came back twice and will stop by again! Well done to all the staff that made this a nice experience, from Sarah, Mike and Owen the dancing baby ;

Without doubt, one of the nicest places we have been to for a while. The best carrot cake and espresso caramel brownie we have tasted. Make sure you go down one of the passageways off the High Street to find this lovely cafe with very pleasant staff. Just wish we lived closer

The marriage of scone and brioche produces a delicious scioche served at Fulton with butter and a choice of jam and cream. Don't miss the opportunity to try it. The addition of freshly ground coffee made this a memorable mid- morning visit which we repeated the following week! Ver carta

We'd been in the town centre on a very busy Saturday afternoon. Started looking for a cafe just for a coffee and sit down, everywhere was packed. Spotted a cafe board down a tiny alley off the high street and was so glad I followed my gut!! This is a little cafe on the front of a jewellery shop/workshop. The service was quick and with a lovely smile. We only wanted a drink, but for future ref, there were other menus items like waffles and bagels etc, some vegan options too. We will definitely return!! A beautiful view as well and a little touch of binoculars in the window to have a peek at the hills nearby.

Whilst on holiday in the Lake District we visited Keswick. After a good walk around we decided to head back to the caravan in Cockermouth. Before we left we decided to have a drink. Looking at the menu to The Bench my wife and I decided to also have a scone, while my mother in law was going to have a Belgium waffle. The food was first class. Fruit scones made with brioche flour served with cheese, chutney and grapes. Never tasted a scone so good. All washed down with some Mawsons Dandelion Burdock. Beautiful food, in a lovely tea shop, with friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back, just got to remember to keep an eye on the parking .

"I would have loved to rate our dining experience at the Ivy House a lot higher but we were to leave somewhat disappointed. The dining area was pleasant and intimate with well appointed decor, the waitress and waiters pleasant, polite and attentive. The varied menu looked very appetising with most tastes catered for. We chose two courses from the main menu, the Duck Breast and a Fish Dish for myself. Contrary to other reviews we were to wait over 40 minutes before the food was presented to us. We were not advised of any delays or even the expected length of time we might have to wait. The food on arrival was well presented and flavoursome although I did not consider two small stem broccoli spears a serving. I also asked the waiter why there was no Samphire to accompany my dish as stated on the menu, this comment was also reinforced by a fellow diner who ate the same dish just prior to me. The waiter advised me that he would ask the chef. I did not receive a response to my question during further table service and subsequently asked the waiter again. On returning the waiter advised me the chef said “he will try to remember to put it on next time”, a somewhat disrespectful comment. The Cheese platter we were presented with was lacklustre and sparse, quince jelly and a small dish of chutney being the predominant feature. For ourselves we did not feel that our dining experience represented good value for money."
