The Bull Colosseum - Carta

Bank Holiday Monday lunch- long wait for food which wasn’t entirely the kitchen’s fault, but quality not the best. Good, however, to see this long established pub back in ‘good health’ with its traditional name restored.

I had an incredible Sunday lunch at The Bull! The portions were generous and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was both professional and fun. We will definitely be coming back. The landlady was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Cheers to all the staff!

I came in with a friend at 7.40pm to have some dinner, The advertised time for stopping serving food is 8pm. We were told by the barman that they had stopped serving food and the kitchen was closed. When I challenged him about the advertised time he said they had been quiet and closed early. Not a good way to run a business that's for sure. Ver carta

A warm welcome friendly service -with a smile, and a limited traditional pub menu at reasonable prices. This ain't gourmet dining but we shall go again as it is refreshingly different from the mass of chain pubs evrywhere. Between us we did the cod and chips, scampi in a basket (yes, really! and two largish desserts. Good portions, hot, plainly cooked. Pub grub as it should be.

We recently visited this restaurant to listen to a band play and had dinner before the show. The staff were extremely efficient and helpful, and the food was delicious. My wife ordered the chicken and leek pie with mashed potatoes, while I decided to have the full English breakfast at 8pm, which was absolutely scrumptious. The atmosphere was friendly and the food was very reasonably priced, making it a worthwhile dining experience. We highly recommend giving this place a try.

If your’e walking from Croydon along the Vanguard Way as we were it is worth timing your walk to arrive here when it’s open. The full range of COVID measures are in effect although the staff are not wearing masks when they are the customer side of the bar which I think is a mistake. Other than than, the food is decent, a Caesar salad and a ploughman’s were good value and the Doombar was very well kept. Three out of six of us ordered the Sunday Roast, and although all the food was fantastic, I have to say that this was the best roast dinner I have had locally in a long time. The food arrived about 20 minutes after ordering, even though we had expected a longer wait due to the restaurant being busy. The pork was cooked to perfection and was incredibly tender, with crispy potatoes and a variety of vegetables such as parsnips, carrots, broccoli, and cabbage. The meal also included delicious homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy. We have just returned from a lunch here and thought that we should provide a review before everything is forgotten. The bar service was quick and efficient but the chosen food took ages to be served. It must have taken well over 30 minutes to serve just a ploughmans lunch and a bacon and brie sandwich! What was even more annoying was that a couple who ordered hot food after us were served well before us. And there were few people eating there! Our two complaints about the slow service were answered by we have a chef missing! but that isn 't good enough as it doesn 't take that long to prepare such dishes. We have often driven past The Bull and thought we should try it. As we had a double celebration due we rang and booked a table for a Saturday afternoon at 1.30. On arrival we noticed only 1 other table of 4 who were obviously waiting for food. I thought great the food won’t be long. How wrong I was. We waited over an hour for 4 meals. The other people waiting waited even longer than we did and 2 of their meals were ploughman’s. We couldn’t believe the wait considering there were only 2 tables.
