The Butchers Arms - Carta

This charming pub is known for its generous portions and reasonable prices. However, the food was average and the service was disappointing. Our online booking was initially not found.

Lovely welcome with new owners staff we very polite we had pork main meal and pasta bake then crunchy cheese cake and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream it was all nice will be going back there

Decided to pop in before the Llanddarog show after seeing a sign advertising lunch specials. Glad we did as the food is up to it's usual high standards and the service was great, as usual. Highly recommend popping in. Ver carta

I had a gammon and it was lovely , my mother had a duck and it was very good. My brother had a burger and that was spot on and my dad had a cod and chips and that was lovely as well. We all had a starter (cockles and it was really nice. Well worth a trip from Cardiff!!

So happy we found this pub, friendly, welcoming host with delicious food. Welsh cheddar soup to start was really tasty, burgers, steak and ale pie, cottage pie, salmon encroute, sticky toffee pudding…all demolished. Will definitely be back again to sit by the inviting open fire next time.

We had a delightful evening at this restaurant. The staff was very efficient and polite. We enjoyed sitting in front of the open fire. The cockles starter was amazing, and the Butchers Burger as a main dish was the best I've ever tasted! The cheesecake for dessert was out of this world. Thank you and we will definitely be back soon. A group of four of us booked a table for lunch and were warmly welcomed by the attentive young staff and landlady. The Welsh cheddar soup and cockles with laver bread starters were both delicious. The salmon special and burger for mains were very filling and tasty. We all opted for Manchester Tarts for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Dissapointing, such a shame. We as a family have been visiting the Butchers for nearly 10 years now but the most recent visit, will have been our last. Dissapointing, poor quality food, at an extortionate price. As always Really warm, friendly staff. The food a complete let down. Will not be recommending it to others either. Serious work needs to be done on the food.

A disappointing meal on a Saturday evening for 6 friends. The staff were lovely and most helpful but the food was a let down for 3 of us. We ordered duck in a Grand Marnier sauce but being given a steak knife with it was unusual to say the least! One person sent it straight back but 2 of us carried on with the worst duck I have ever tried to eat. The skin was very fatty and slimy but the meat was mostly too tough to cut. One meal was refunded later but we will not be returning. Ver carta
