"We went along hoping the menu might have more than pizza. It didn 't. The decor is refreshingly different to the Tartan schmaltz you otherwise get in the area. There is no lighting from the car park to the building which is a health and safety issue and should be resolved as priority. The pizza was ok but very dry. Personally I think all pizza should have passata as standard along with mozzarella. The barman (the owner? kept turning the music up and 'photobombed ' the blackboard menu when my wife tried to photograph it so we could check the toppings at our table. He thought this was very funny. If he was an employee rather than the owner I can 't imagine this would be tolerated. We couldn 't chat and got to the point of asking for doggie bags so we could leave. After my wife paid and was putting her purse away the barman grabbed her for an uninvited hug. He then marched out and challenged me to shake his hand to demonstrate that we 'd had a nice time which we hadn 't. It was not dissimilar to and as pleasant as being challenged to a fight. Against my better judgement I extended my hand which he predictably attempted to crush and I had to pull away. Please don 't grab people unless it 's made very clear they want to be. We hardly spoke a word to you and it was inappropriate. Had we been chatting happily and got to know about your business it might have been different. Next time we 're in the area we 'll drive that little bit further and go to Callander to eat out."

Everyone was so friendly! I didn’t try the pizza but it looked amazing and everyone else said it was great. My friend and I spent the night in our camper van in the parking lot. P.S. Craig, if you see this thank you for the water and the Tylenol!

I recently discovered this hidden gem, where Jason and Sharon treat you like family. The food and atmosphere are truly exceptional - I can't wait to visit again. If you find yourself in the area, don't hesitate to stop by for some delicious food and friendly conversation.

Stumbled across this pub in the woods while staying nearby. Only intended to pop in for a quick drink before dinner, ended up staying for hours. Open fires, Berlin-esque club music interspersed with Mungo Jerry…weird in a good way . Like others have said, the landlord is a cool dude who makes you feel like you’re the only person in the room. Pizzas were uniquely good cooked in a wood fired oven under the magical twinkle of fairy lights Ver carta

Having already had, what I believe is the best pizza I've ever had outside of Italy, I had no hesitation when the Byre Inn started to offer breakfasts. Cooked on a cast iron skillet in a wood fired pizza oven, this breakfast was a different level to your usual fry up. With orange juice and unlimited coffee, it's the perfect way to set yourself up for a walk on a cold, wet day walking in the Trossachs. Definitely worth it, I will be back.

Absolutely loved visiting here for an evening. Had such a great night with the people we met here. Thank you so much for all the laughs from everyone there. Along with the great conversation. And thank Craig for the water and aspirin for Beth’s hangover the next morning. Oh and heading made me some delicious and much needed hot chocolate! So good and the sprinkles were a great addition. Could not have asked for better people to spend the evening with. This bar/pub is worth the visit and such a gorgeous location.

We planned a walk round a visit to the Byre Inn as we had good memories from a previous visit. Today was disappointing as the only food on offer was a bowl of soup and some bread. They do wood fire pizza but they had finished for the day. Also there was no draught beer as they don’t get any in over winter. Four soups and four drinks for £48 felt too expensive as it was a small bowl of soup and we had to get them reheated. I would like to visit again in summer months to see if it’s better than today but it’s definitely not a place I would visit again during winter months Ver carta

We stopped for a refreshment late on a Sunday afternoon. The pub garden, dominated incongruously by an old red London bus, looked a bit unloved but we went into the bar anyway. A group had taken all the comfortable seats so we perched on bar stools with an upturned barrel for a table. My wife doesn't drink and I was driving so something non-alcoholic was called for. We were told that the Byre Inn does not serve coffees or teas so as not to compete with the tearoom up the road (closed when we passed). They have no soda water tap so soda water and lime was not an option. There was no pineapple juice; orange or apple were the only choices available and the orange when poured seemed to have a sm...
