"Firstly, apologies for such a long review, but SO much went wrong! My husband phoned to book a table of 6 for last Saturday night at 8pm for our daughter’s birthday. The lady told him he would have to pay a £5 deposit per person for tables of 4+ and pre select our meals. She was unable to take payment over the phone so he would have to come to the restaurant. She told him the table would be decorated and they would put out balloons. A few days later my husband was in Bedford so popped in to pay the deposit. Another lady said no, you only have to pay a deposit and pre book food on tables of 8+. She told him the table had been booked for 8:50pm. He said no it should be 8pm so she amended it and confirmed the table would be decorated. On arrival for our booking, a young lady was very confused and I could see on their piece of paper that our booking was not on their list. She whispered with 2 men, then they seemed to have a disagreement with each other. One of the men told us to follow him. We did, right to the end of the restaurant, where we were seated in semi darkness, next to the toilet, at an undecorated table and it was very cold. We sat, chatted and perused the menu. About 20 minutes later, the same man came back to our table and said he wanted to take our drinks orders only, he was very firm about that. We told him we were very cold and he said that he couldn’t put the heater on because it would make other customers too hot! After another 15 minutes or so, some of our drinks turned up and the two bottles of diet Coke, that we had ordered amongst others, were flat and tasted horrible. We waited for the man to come back to our table with the rest of the drinks, but my husband gave up and took the two bottles of Coke to the bar to swap them for something else. They told him they were very busy and the lady he had spoken to when he had gone to the restaurant and confirmed our booking, had been sacked because of her mental health issues a fact that he told them they should not be revealing to customers! When my husband returned to the table, we were still waiting for one persons drink, eventually turning up when we asked again. Following that we were then able to give our food order (after being in the restaurant for about 45 minutes). When the starters finally turned up, they had brought one spare one that we hadn’t ordered . We made a mental note to check the bill at the end of the evening to ensure we had not paid for the two flat cokes and the extra starter. They came to clear away our starter plates, whilst one member of our party was still eating hers. Once we had received our main meals, my pizza was supposed to be a spicy chilli one However, I have had spicier toast in my lifetime! The chilli pizza that the previous management used to serve was delicious, this was not. My daughter did not enjoy her carbonara. On trying to use the unisex toilet, we had to point out to them that there was zero toilet paper in there. It wasn’t particularly clean either. When our main meal plates were cleared, the staff took them through the fire door at the rear of the restaurant, presumably a shortcut to their kitchen, however, they left the door wide open, making us even colder! One of our party got up to close it for them. Then both the men came back to the table again and began collecting the placemats off the table and started clearing everything away. I asked our table if anyone would like any desserts or coffee, because clearly they weren’t on offer from them! We were told that they wouldn’t bother bringing our bill to us, but we should pay on the way out. We were very much being told to move on! Because of everything that had gone on prior to and during the evening, we said no, we would like an itemised bill please. So the man brought it to us extremely quickly, if only the food and drink had been as swift! As expected, the bill was wrong with the Cokes on there as well as other mistakes, however, the mistakes worked in our favour, so we accepted their incorrect bill and paid it on our way out! Obviously, no tip was left! We have eaten at this restaurant for lunches and dinners many times over the last few years, but sadly it only takes one really bad experience with literally everything going wrong and now we will never, ever go back with these people there. We were embarrassed to have taken our friends there to celebrate our daughters birthday when we could’ve gone to so many other amazing Italian restaurants in Bedford."

The restaurant is small but the food and service are amazing. I can't wait to go back. The prices are very good too, with 2 courses for 14.95, which you can't find anywhere else around Bedford. I would recommend it to everyone.

Meal for 4. Food really good. Service great. Pricing fair and didn’t feel ripped off! Lovely meal, at a fair price with great friendly service. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back. Pricing was spot on ! Thank you for a lovely evening

Me and my partner always come here because we love Italian food. We can't fault the staff they are so lovely, the sticky toffee pudding is so good and definitely worth a try. The carbonara is so light but so filling. We always come here for an Italian date night.

Was a little concerned having read a couple of recent reviews , we have been here MANY times and loved it , we found it to be as good as ever , great food , friendly service and good value , my wife is returning next week in a group of 10 , will post again after that

After many visits to the Capuccino Bar we were concerned to hear it was under new ownership. We were pleased to find very few changes and those we did find were for the better. Portion sizes seemed larger, service was good and the lunch menu prices are one of the best bargains in town. A huge relief and we look forward to testing the evening menu in the near future.

I would like too take the time too say how fantastic this place is. We went as a family and fiends for my birthday. I can safely say the plates was full and very tasty . We enjoy it when we see that everyone was happy. Amazing quality of food, incredible hospitality and a lovely location. We'll definitely back as a family and as a couple hopefully ....Thank you all....

I recently visited a cappuccino bar restaurant in town and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious! I ordered their Meatballs and they were absolutely amazing—the flavors were perfect. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the entire experience very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place for a delicious Italian meal!

I am a frequent patron of this restaurant and usually enjoy the delicious food and great service at a reasonable price. However, I was disappointed to find out that they do not offer takeaway coffee, as I had experienced for two weeks in a row. When I offered to sit in instead, the response I received was unhelpful and unfriendly. Unfortunately, I left without my desired coffee from the cappuccino bar, feeling let down by the experience.

We booked for a busy Saturday night and what can I say? The service was abysmal, did not feel welcome and felt very rushed. Incredibly rude waiters, food wasn’t like it used to be and won’t be returning. This has been our go to restaurant for years now but since Ivanda and Surinder left, we will no longer be returning. We clearly asked for no raw onions (due to medical reasons) and these were put on the starter, when we told the waiter, he just laughed and said ok. Having ordered coke, it arrived warm, not the one… Our mains were quite frankly disgusting. The lasagne was so over powered with garlic, it’s all we could taste. My chicken was dry as a bone and the bolognese sauce was full of fat...
