Superb food and cocktails tonight. Sean couldn't do enough for us, communicated beautifully and he was a very welcome friendly face who made our evening. Thank you, we'll be back!

We eat here every couple of weeks. Lately it just gets better and better. Sunday lunch today was excellent. I had the roast beef dinner and it’s probably the best I have had anywhere. My wife said her boeuf bourguignon was delicious. Recommended.

Great spot! We booked dinner the menu was excellent good selection with option to have a ‘meal deal ‘ two courses a drink. All of our food was delicious came out piping hot. Choice of cocktails was also brilliant. I had also booked the upstairs for my daughters 18th and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful from start to finish. Would totally recommend this venue. Went for a meal recently and we both had the steak ciabatta, mine with skinny fries and the other with chunky chips, the ciabatta was that overcooked we could hardly cut it and it kept flying off the plate, the steak was grey and not very appitising and the skinny fries were soft. We waited 45 minutes for our food which is way too long. We felt a bit cramped in our seats too but on a positive note the staff were friendly.

We picked up a very stale smell when we arrived. Place was freezing food was less than poor. My £17.75 open steak sandwich was a piece of white bread topped with a huge pile of brown shredded iceberg lettuce, 5-6 fine strips of freezing steak, a few wafer thin mushroom slices onions, garlic fries did not even taste of garlic. Atrocious meal, my friends ribs corn were ice cold. The other 2 mains, a fish special a supreme of chicken were better. We are here a few years ago many times it was v good. Toilets were stinking blocked. General grubby feeling to the whole venue. We won’t be back!

Excellent experience! We went here for a small scale family celebration. The food was excellent (try the korean broccoli!! , the atmosphere was lively and fun, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were seated in the restaurant area (the bar area was noisier and there was a live band in the bar area played good music, but was still possible to talk. Ireland were also playing rugby that evening we could sense the ups and downs from the bar area, but this only added to the atmosphere and was not overwhelming! We also loved the decor and spent quite some time trying to understand what made it special and how we could copy this in our own home!!

Been going to the Cardan for years, it 's always hit and miss but tonight was the worst food I 've ever had. It used to be such a great wee spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family. I know the cost of produce is through the roof but tonight was just deplorable quality. There 's still a stale toilet smell on arrival as others noted in previous reviews. Service was fine but the food was unbelievable burger had soggy onion rings and a meat pattie that I can only imagine was cooked last week then microwaved and served.
