"Our first visit today. I am a meat eater (reducing my intake of meat though) and the Mrs is a vegan and it is so difficult to find somewhere that serves a balance of food suitable for her and that will keep me interested too. There are so few places around East Lancashire/above Manchester so we were delighted to get a recommendation for Earthlings from our vegan friend. Simple elegant decor and a spotlessly clean premises, an interesting menu and specials board and very friendly staff. So...the food I went for the breakfast burrito, a beautiful purple coloured wrap with mushrooms, ‘Sosage’ pattie and whole earth baked beans, salad leaves and tomatoes on the side. I would have licked the plate clean had social etiquette allowed. The Mrs went for the Pumpkin seed, quinoa and Chia burger with slaw salsa and a few sweet potato cubes on the side from the specials board. I didn’t try hers, but she made approving noises and faces whilst she ate and said after how nice it was. Dessert was choc orange cheesecake with a scoop of vanilla Booja Booja ‘ice cream’ for me and Lavender and Lemon cheesecake with a scoop of berry sorbet for the Mrs. A cappuccino and an Americano brought the bill to around £33 money well spent and we will definitely be going back!"

"I recently had the best sushi at this restaurant! We visited this afternoon and the sushi was so exceptional that I couldn't wait to leave a five-star review! We ordered a mixed nigiri platter and a spider maki roll. The sushi rice was absolutely fantastic! It was unlike any sushi I’ve had before—no hard, dry textures or long travel taste. The combination of flavors in all the sushi was simply amazing. It was fresh, delicious, and offered great value for money! Unlike some other places, it wasn't overloaded with ingredients. We’re definitely interested in trying their teppanyaki dishes, but we knew we’d be too full to manage it today! I really wish this restaurant were right next to our apartment, as we only came for an event nearby. If I lived closer, I would visit all the time! We did wait for over 30 minutes to get our sushi, but it was absolutely worth it. It's clear this place is very popular for takeout and dining in. (Just a note: the picture with the white plate isn’t ours; we just wanted to take a photo.)"

"All the staff was so lovely, I booked for a bottomless brunch (thought I did anyway) but turns out I hadn’t and staff sorted it all out for me, the service was amazing, they waited on hand and foot for everyone. The food was smashing and the quality and quantity was great."

"Regular visitor lovely welcome from staff new menu so bit of confusion but soon managed to find something we both liked. King prawn cocktail starter £8 and chicken wings £6.50 main courses blade of beef £15ish and chicken with pesto £13ish only disappointment was drink service, hubby wanted a pint of stella and was informed no longer did draught no problem he got something else and I asked for a glass of house white (large). Before the main courses arrived hubby had a quick look at what bottles were available and low and behold Stella in a bottle so he ordered that and I got a second wine. No puddings were ordered but I noticed the cheeseboard had been removed (slightly gutted). Bill arrived and wow if I thought starters were overpriced not close to £8 for a large white wine and I'd had two! gutted and little disappointed we could have been advised better when choosing drinks."

"Decent cup of coffee and decent oat milk latte. Staff friendly enough too. The however to all this was (a) the fact that, on offering my own cup (small), I was charged for a large latte and (b) price. £3.60 for a large latte in a small cup is poor value. Also, this cafe falls into the usual trap of charging extra for an oat milk latte. By this I mean that the cafe charges for a latte with normal milk, doesn 't provide the normal milk and then charges again for oat milk. Result; customer with an allergy to dairy pays twice; once not to have normal milk and once to have the alternative. This cafe therefore makes local alternatives look like great value. Both Caffe Italia and The Cakery charge £2.80 for superb oat milk lattes. I ended up paying £3.60 for what was a small latte. This makes the bigger chains seem reasonable something I 'd really prefer not to accept. So; in future, why not offer the customer a choice regular or large? Why not offer a small discount to someone who brings their own cup for a takeaway coffee? These are small acknowledgements but would be appreciated. Come on Heaton Coffee, you can do better and, not so very long ago, you DID do better. That 's why this particular disappointed customer will be going to Caffe Italia in the future and will be telling friends to do the same."
