"The greeting could be more friendly, in fact I would say there is not much that does not need improving. We have had many stays here but today was the worst experience I have had there. Asked for a table at ..told could not do so booked for But it was empty!! Two other tables. The melon starter was not ripe. The main meal was only just warm. The gravy was not even hot. In fact it had a skin on it. Not once were we asked if everything was ok. In fact it was far from OK!! As I said we have been many times...but no more!"

it is hard to overestimate the effects of covid on the gastfreundschaft trade, and we are compassionate, but our experience cannot be responsible for the pandemic. we should have been suspicious when we saw how quiet it was for a Saturday night.

Just travelled for an hour to meet my family for Christmas afternoon tea, not sure what was meant to make it a festive afternoon tea, perhaps the bought in minature mince pie with a blob of cream slapped on top. All of the party except one person got three sandwiches, when the waiter was told, he responded that they had some spares in the kitchen… More Ver carta

a waste of money! firm afternoon was only big enough for a four-year-old and without taste buds. both went hungry and very disappointed after home. dry sandwiches, nothing homemade, nothing special about it. very expensive for a snack best! complained to the staff - they went to the manager should not even have disturbed. manager said it was a price that would not do anything about it. will not go back!

Visited the comfy duck on Saturday, a group of of us, the food was pre ordered and still managed to get some of the meals wrong. We were having to clear our own tables of glasses whilst there was at least members of staff stood around doing nothing, I wouldn’t mind if it was busy within the restaurant but barring maybe other people there was nobody else there. Shame really as I was really looking forward to the evening and expected abit better service then what was received !

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
