"After spending a week travelling around West coast of Scotland our last night was in beautiful Callander. Arrived at hotel to a warm welcome from Leon and Nicole.. check in was easy and we were shown to room 1.. lovely clean, bright airy room with a massive and exceptionally comfortable bed, had ensuite shower room, tv and plenty room to unpack. Had a few drinks then dinner in the restaurant, again, service was friendly but professional, food was delicious Balmoral chicken and Balmoral steak) with an enormous Eton mess to share. Our dog Ronny was also made very welcome . After a great sleep we had breakfast poached eggs and pancakes) which was perfect.. Hotel is on the main high street, central to all the lovely shops etc.. we just parked beside hotel.. Will definitely return to the Waverley as the staff and service is spot on. Highly recommend"

"There seems to be confusion here, Callander meadows is a beauty spot In the Trossachs town of Callander. It is NOT a hotel but it is surrounded by hotels, B&B's cafes and restaurants and a myriad of great shops on the small towns main St. It is a place of beauty, peace and tranquility. The river Teith runs through it on a very fast current to join with the greater River Forth. In summer, Callander is a very busy place and hotel rooms can be scarce indeed. The pick of the main Street hotels for me, is the long established Crown hotel. Perfectly situated, a minutes walk from the meadows, where there is excellent service and great food. This undoubted haven is only 1 hour's drive away from Glasgow off the M80 to Stirling. I stand corrected but had no idea that there is indeed a B&B called Callander meadows which i shall aquaint myself with on next visit.The description of the beauty spot in my review remains unchanged so please enjoy both, marvelling at the sight of one whilst staying at the other"

"Worst Pint ever! Couldn’t drink it! Used to visit this pub and also buy beer from the shop years ago when we lived nearby and it was fantastic. Sadly no longer. My husband had a pint of Waylade which was very cloudy and apparently tasted pretty awful. He complained to the waitress who said to the barman and relayed back that it was always cloudy! He couldn’t drink it! We waited ages for food as did the other customers despite it being quiet and then my husband’s prawn baguette was less appetising than one from Greggs and had no garnish, salad or finesse. The waitress did try to help with gluten information and options and I settled for a burger with a GF bun but it came as exactly that no butter, no sauce, no garnish. I declined the offer of boiled potatoes instead of chips and asked for a small cup of soup instead which she obligingly got after some deliberation hence the one star). When I went to pay I took the beer and explained that my husband found it undrinkable and the barman just shrugged and presented me with the card machine!!! If we hadn’t walked from Callander, we would have left after the drinks and I wish we had and just remembered how great it used to be! I almost never leave bad reviews and we had great meals out while in Callander fir 9 days but sadly not here and will never return or recommend this place as we had done previously."

"Being local to Mhor fish I use it regularly and glad it got kept as a fish and chip restaurant and the food hasn't disappointed! Glad too the restaurant is open as always loved sitting in. Only thing thats a little disappointing is they say 12 till 9 7days per week, however that's been a couple times I've came after 12 like 20 minutes when they should be ready to serve, but they haven't other than that very good fish and chip shop and I recommend!"

"Amazing restaurant in Callander. We stopped by on our Highlands road trip and were amazed by the food and service received here. Fair prices and very generous portions. We really recommend the Halloumi fries and the steak pie, but everything was fantastic. Absolutely recommend. Vegetarian options: Plenty of tasty veggie options. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Steak Pie with Veg Served with Chips or Potatoes, Roast Beef, Cheesy Garlic Bread"
