nice pub with good kitchen. we had two delicious dishes. can recommend the sirloin and the Lebanese huh.

great pub with a decent selection of well kept real ale, friendly, helpful staff and eating looked excellent. well worth a visit if you in the opposite will be back.

friendly staff. varied menu. as we have a dog, we were not allowed to eat inside so we had to sit on a side table. that was a shame as she had stayed and had desserts and more drinks, but the bank was not so comfortable. Ver carta

This pub is a friendly well run pub with delicious food not just chain pub grub but homemade lovely lovely food with a great menu , everything is outstanding from the drinks and food to the friendly bar staff definitely will come back here

I decided to try out The Crown after hearing good things from locals. I went on a Tuesday evening, so it wasn't too busy. The staff was friendly, the setting was traditional, and the food surpassed my expectations. I will definitely be returning!

Fantastic food and excellent staff. Staying at a local campsite with our kids. Ate at the pub every night. The specials board is a real treat and the main menu was excellent. Friendly staff were very attentive and chef came out to check on everyone after service. It’s these touches that make a place stand out. Cannot recommend the good enough. If you’re staying near by definitely book this place!

We were disappointed to find that the menu at this pub did not match what was advertised on the website. It's possible that there has been a change in chefs. The most unfortunate part of our experience was one member of our group getting food poisoning. Despite this, the other three members enjoyed their meals. We have reached out to the pub about the food poisoning incident, but have not received a response.

Even though we only stepped in for a pint, the atmosphere of the place is typical village English . Cask and refrigerated ales on tap, the ubiquitous old fireplace with oak mantel, and laid back attitude. Co-beer drinker, who has been here and eaten on numerous occasions, said that the chef/cook really knows his stuff and provides an excellent repast. I hope to experience that the next time I 'm by! The pub is located in the village of Kirkoswald and is easy to get to by car. I 'm not sure of there 's a bus service but wouldn 't be surprised if there is as it 's a fairly large town by northern England standards. I 'd estimate maybe 700-1000 people.
