"This is clearly a much loved restaurant every other table seated around us downstairs had friendly folk who had been long term regulars for over a decade in a couple of cases. I'd already checked there was a vegan menu available plenty of favourites on there although a bit limited on the breads front. Ordered the Bhindi and the Bhaji for starters and these were definitely very generous fresh and crisp and complemented by tamarind sauce and a very tasty mango chutney. For mains we shared the Daal and the Chana Masala; both wonderfully rich in flavour, though they are not joking with the two chilli heat rating on them. Rice is plentiful enough to share between two, and the nicely baked chapati was just about right for one."

Been twice on a Monday night now. Great tasting vegetarian food, flavours and subtle spices.

Very nice upscale Indian. Service was excellent and the food is very good. The menu could use a few more Mains, but other than that I highly recommend.

in nottingham they are pampered for choice on good Indian restaurants, cumin is no exception. good eating and nice and friendly service. the wine list is excellent and they even offer non-alcoholic Indian beer. a good choice when it is at the end of the city.

Earlier poster has clearly not been here lately. A business peer recommended this place and I'm glad she did. Ask the chef what to order. He chose a lamb dish for me. Fantastic. Great service and delicious wine. Would come back if I make it back to Nottingham.

Overall experience was simply fantastic. Because of obvious reasons, friendly service, unique tasty food! Everything went well from the time we came in till the end when we promised to come back, and I simply can't wait to! I guess, the highlight was the fact that the explained everything. Would surely recommend!

I wanted to have a heartwarming dinner after a hard day and The Cumin delivered that. Giving 4 stars only because HappyCow rates 5 stars only the the full Vegan restaurants. Otherwise 5*, loved their separate vegan Menu. Waitresses are very polite and nice, food was delicious (had the mixed vegetables jalfrezi). Plenty of serving, cannot fault it. If you are a Vegan like me and you are around the Nottingham Castle, have meal here. Updated from previous review on 2022-04-05

I've been driving to Nottingham for many years, cumin's my favorite restaurant. the personal is always friendly and the service is excellent. I went back to the other night and my wife and I had an excellent meal. I tried many of the starters and the main thing. one of my favorite stars is the haryali chicken tikka. one of my favorite main is the lamb rogan josh. I also like the keema naan. they have seating in the upper floor that offers additional space as it has to do. I can't wait until I get back!

A lovely small Indian restaurant, with extra seating upstairs. Brilliant service, the staff went out of their way to ensure all our needs were met and there were no long waits between ordering food arriving and between starters mains even though we were a table of 7. The only reason it doesn't get the full 5 stars is because I felt the menu was a little limited and a lot of the dishes looked very similar. I am sure, however, had I requested something specific the kitchen would have produced it for me. Definitely a restaurant to try out in Nottingham, although I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.
