"D.S.A. Having dinned at at the Dock Kitchen being within the trade for 20 years.. I was in a gentle manner let down!!! What i enjoyed, was my well selected wine. The server had no knowledge of the daily menu yes we were neglected so when the service charge is included on the bill I feel it is somewhat a chick, The extraction seemed to be clogged the grills smoke made it hard to find my partner. However, I must admit my Veal chop was cooked right! Overall I did find the whole meal to be stodgy, from starter, to main, including the dessert which was like sand on my pallet. Every dish had a minimum of the main ingredient a substantial amount of starch to choke up...read more"

LovelyLovelyLovely. Food. Dizzy service, friendly and knowledgable though 07 Jul, 2011 LOVEITLOVEIT. This food is brilliant, every mouthful an EXPLOSION! we had chat masala (a kind of indian salad the waitress said) simple and lovely with a complex accomplished spice mix. Followed by slow cooked mixican pork, hot and tasty with lots of smoked chilies. Then the most delicios almpnd tart.

I ate at the dock kitchen some time ago and the menu has changed since. quite a trip from the center of the city that eat and service are worth it. the kitchen can best be described as international....my meal was a mix of italy, Morokko and france. the restaurant itself is very beautiful and spacious, on a small hill with a view of a canal..big glass windows on a side admit a lot of natural light.

The menu itself is experimental, seasonal and original. Whilst recipes root from Parle’s cookery books, the ingredients used certainly aren’t those you would usually find in your cupboard and the local produced used is homogenised into Dock Kitchen’s around the world menu. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed and the ever changing menu means you’ll be hard pushed to order the same thing twice. Ver carta

the dock kitchen is a refreshing restaurant. it is cool without trying too hard and the menu is simple, focuses on a few selections, but still innovat. from all bozzen and hype from central locations, it offers expertly made Mediterranean dishes in a warm, quiet atmosphere with a view of a canal. the menu is constantly updated, based on the seasonal availability of ingredients, so no risk of getting bored by getting back too often!

Not good enough anymore. I have been to this restaurant many times in the last few years. The first time I thought I had found some kind of food heaven. But I guess every place has its day. Over the last four times I have been I have had a nagging feeling that it's really not as good as it should be. I went tonight with my whole family, promising them a great meal and felt really let down. It just is not as good as it should be. So it is with a heavy heart that I say I will not go there again. Sad.

one of the most delicious duos italiens was the focus of a recent interactive workshop under the lead of the famous chef chef dan doherty with a unique takeover of the dock kitchen by ladbroke grove. dan doherty can best be known for a famous coupling: the duck and waffel bowl in restaurant duck waffle where he is chief director. but the man knows his way to a san daniele prosciutto and grana padano also. And I was glad to be with the guests who took part in his workshop. And he seemed very home, actually his thing in kitchen docks' attractive channel sidecrows. Ver carta

So, all in all, a very disappointing meal. Certainly an interesting menu that held lots of promise and provided an interesting cultural perspective on Turkish food. But crucially, failed to deliver good taste or even a basic level of refinement. As we discussed on the table, it’s quite arrogant to base a whole menu on a “brief” holiday and this came through in the balance of the dishes. If this was still a supper club I might have been more forgiving, but it was close to £90 a head in a hectic trendy restaurant. I’m intrigued to see if this menu is a blip in their repertoire but don’t fancy a trip back soon.

on my way to my annual Italian summer holiday I had a copy of stevie Parle’s book with me: “My kitchen, eat from the close and far away”. I haven't read much of a cookbook as a holiday, so I started to flick through the sides while on my flight. two hours later I was sold to stevies, which is more than a cookbook. is a travel book with food, is a recipe book with travel information, is the description of its passion for world cuisine, fresh ingredients, seasonality and sustainableness. once in london I started reading on stevie and found out that after a successful stint with a “pop-up” restaurant he now stints somewhere at the docks...read more
