"We had a delightful Sunday lunch at this restaurant! We opted to sit outside, which was a bit chilly, but worth it during the pandemic. The staff were excellent, consistently checking on us and wearing masks. They had a great one touch policy for drinks glasses. The small car park out front was sufficient, but could fill up quickly on busy days. The restaurant is dog-friendly in the back garden. The food was delicious with generous portions. The only improvement I would suggest is having a jug of gravy available, although there was already plenty on the plate. The desserts were also tasty. I was surprised that the chocolate pot wasn't a hot dessert, so it might be helpful to mention this on the menu for outside diners wanting to warm up. I look forward to returning soon!"

Loved the food. Amazing. Service brilliant. Place has changed a bit since I last went, probably 25 years ago but the toilets haven't. Clean. Needs TLC

our food orders were sent in advance... Everything came out on time great starters, the main course of Turkey was excellent good selection of fresh vegetables, alas no sprouts which was a shame having said that could fault the food.. Service was excellent ...

The restaurant offers delicious food with a friendly and attentive staff in a well-decorated setting. The portions are generous and everyone enjoyed their meals. There is a good selection for vegetarians, but the standout dish was the Miso Glazed Aubergine starter. I would have taken a photo to share, but my plate was empty!

We enjoyed a delicious meal at this restaurant. I opted for the children's roast chicken dinner as I didn't have a big appetite, and it was a perfect portion size for me. My partner ordered the mozzarella balls salad and my son had the tomato and cheese pasta. The staff was lovely and we had a wonderful experience overall. Thank you.

4.5 stars. the sunday roast was really good. only 15 minutes walk from the city center is a reasonable number of parking places. tables inside and also lots of space (and tables) outside. we had the whitebait as a deer and sunday roast beef and sunday roast pork. all excellent in quality, quantity and taste. service also well checked for example to see if everything was to our satisfaction. in any case worth a visit!

"Went for Beauty and The Beast afternoon tea yesterday. Utterly stunning building and the room we were sat in was decorated beautifully. The service from start to finish was lovely although we did have to flag someone down anytime we needed something as we were not approached at all for more drinks or if we wanted our scones. The sandwiches were lovely and cut perfectly if not a little bland. The chicken roll was lovely and the toastie was nice but would benefit from stronger cheese as it didn’t really taste of anything. The scones were perfect and some of the best I’ve ever eaten. The sausage rolls were amazing as were the little tart and salmon mousse. The cakes very much let it all down. The blueberry cake tasted of nothing and seemed greasy. The macaron again tasted of very little and the red food colouring stained everything it touched. The lemon cake was nice but the icing was awful and it seemed to be made from margarine rather than actual butter. The chocolate mousse was lovely if not a little strong for the children. Both the savoury and sweet biscuits were out of this world. Our biggest complaint is that 4 of us were squeezed into a small table. We really struggled for space. I couldn’t drink my tea and had to hand back my pot of tea as we simply didn’t have space for it. We felt incredibly cramped. It would of been nice to have some music in line with the themed afternoon tea playing too perhaps?"
