"The Fenn Bell Zoo is a fantastic destination. We decided to have brunch there when our local cafe was closed. Despite the pouring rain, we made our way to Fenn Bell because we had heard great things about the zoo. As blue badge holders, we parked in the furthest part of the car park and walked past the outdoor enclosures to reach the restaurant. The interior was a bit dim, but the chairs were comfortable. We ordered the all-day breakfast, but we were disappointed with the quality. The bread was stale and would have been better toasted, the baked beans were bland, and the meal was only warm due to the frequently opened door. When we asked for sauces, we were directed to "round the corner" where we found large bottles of ketchup and mayonnaise that were difficult to use on our meal. The customer service was lacking, and they should consider providing individual sauce sachets at the table. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience and will not be returning based on this visit."

Really great food here, had a seafood platter was well cooked, all the food was very tasty, nice atmosphere and well kept. Popped in for lunch after a visit to the conservation which is amazing value and worth the visit. Proper litre gem this place.

We visited the zoo today for the first time and what a wonderful experience. At only £5 per person entry it really is value for money, there is just enough to look at plus a few little play area for the children. We didn’t stay for food but next time we definitely will.

Lunch in the pub before a visit to the zoo. The food was delicious, hot, well presented and plenty of it. Puddings were the usual type eg. Brownies, Eton mess etc. but, as with the mains, delicious. The service was very good. After we’d eaten we had a walk round the Zoo. The tickets have just been reduced. The kids loved the play area and were delighted to see the animals. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending The Fenn Bell Inn

Disappointed to find no Sunday dinner on the menu. On arriving told them we had a booking, had to ask where our table was as they didn’t tell us. No one came over to take our order, ordered at the bar. Food ok. Had to move our plates into another table as no one came over to us. No offer of dessert or coffee. Don’t go there if you’re having a family celebration as the staff are extremely rude and clearly don’t want you to have a good time Ver carta

The staff at the restaurant were excellent, but it seemed like they were understaffed. Tables were left dirty for long periods of time, and the same person was juggling both serving drinks and cleaning tables. The food was typical pub fare - one person in our group ordered fish and chips and enjoyed it, mentioning that it was delicious and generously portioned. I had a burger, which I would rate a 6 out of 10. Some of our group also visited the nearby zoo and highly recommended it. Overall, I would suggest checking out the pub as well.

My partner, our 16-month-old, and I visited this pub after a great trip to the zoo, which is conveniently located right behind it. Upon entering, we noticed how small it was inside, with seating for only about fifty people at most, as well as a small outdoor seating area. The atmosphere was lacking, and the decor was quite bland and uninteresting, with a few pictures of zoo animals on the walls. However, the food was tasty and arrived quickly. The air-fried chips were a nice touch, and overall, I wouldn't choose to return to this pub. We only came because we were already at the zoo for lunch, but I wouldn't make a reservation here again.

Please get a new chef. Had breakfast there today. Ordered two mushroom omelette. After 15 minutes, we were informed that one had broken during plating. arrived. One burnt and both broken. And these were the best! The tea arrived transport cafe style with milk already added and the bag floating about. We wanted decaf but not something they specialise in. I don't know what was spread on the toast but it didn't melt. I know all about complaining at the time but that seemed futile as we'd been given the best two out of three. Can't wait for chef to eventually produce proper ones. Shame as it would have been nice have somewhere local to go for breakfast. Ver carta

Came here for a birthday lunch and to visit the little zoo attached. The food was horrendous. Roast beef from the festive menu, 5 slices of carrots, the hardest roast potatoes and one of the slices of beef was pure gristle and inedible. If we had ordered starters we were told they had to come out with mains. The cod was over done and the burger was cold in the middle. The coffees came out cold which we sent back. The cutlery was useless, knife didn’t cut and looked like it was about 50 years old. No fish fingers. This was 12 noon on weekday. The cranberry juice was like water. The desserts of choc brownie and profiteroles we had were lovely. It has gone down hill since the last time we came....

An attractive pub next to a charming little zoo with an excellent range of small mammals and birds. It also has a buggy cart ride around the zoo included in the £5 entry fee. Lunch was good value for money. Fish and chips were carefully cooked with peas and a salad garnish, the children’s portions were generous and the ploughman’s lunch was huge so much that a very helpful ‘doggy bag’ was needed and would provide another generous meal. Puds were the usual ice creams but the chocolate brownie which one child ordered was much enjoyed. The service was a little slow but the young chef seemed to be managing the kitchen by himself and made a very good job of it. It’s a Shepherd Neame pub but the o...
