We came for Sunday lunch, excellent food and service and the whole building was tastefully refurbished, located in a cute little village with tons of history and only short 15-20 mins to Bath. Would recommend! Service: 5 Location: 5 Ver carta

Wonderful roast beef and the bread was fantastic however Xmas music in mid November is an awful choice and almost spoilt an otherwise perfect atmosphere. The building is awesome and the waiting staff were very good. Hotel highlights: Romantic

Stopped here on a journey home to find the bar and restaurant in different rooms from our last visit what a great job renovation! We spent the weekend at the George and can honestly say I couldn’t fault anything. The refit has lifted what was already a superb hotel a couple of levels higher. We ate in the restaurant on Friday and Saturday, and the food was sensational. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we can’t wait to visit again. Rooms: 5 Service: 5

Fantastic old hotel/pub, nicely updated, with great ambiance. We stayed in the Coachman room which had massive beams and 14th century bathroom and shower doors. The food was excellent, service from all the staff was top rate. We would love to stay here again! Noteworthy details: They have kept a lot of period features but it is a very comfortable place to stay. Rooms: 5

I have not stayed here , but would love to. The service and environment was just perfect for a family Sunday lunch and we had a great time exploring this historic pub. We were in the dungeon which sounded ominous but turned out to be a warm, welcoming ambient room for larger tables if guests. The menu offered a really good selection, very important as some of our party were vegetarian pescatarian. I can recommend hand on heart this is one of the loveliest pub experiences I have had in the UK for as long as I can remember. Shame I only have personal pics . Food drinks: Excellent ! Ver carta
