The Gathering Lookout

This restaurant is charming, with friendly staff and fantastic food! I would rate the rooms a 5, service a 5, and location a 5.

We didn’t stay but ate at the Lookout twice on our stay over in Knoydart, both my wife and I thought our meals were excellent and the staff were very pleasant. I had the bast steak in years Service: 5 Location: 3

Had food here several times during our 3 day stay in Inverie. Menu was excellent, food prep also excellent. Even better than that was Abi who looked after us each occasion we were there..... Absolutely first class. A lesson in how to deliver great service! Service: 5 Location: 5 Ver carta

Visited for early afternoon dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. Food was absolutely delicious with the scallops and haggis a big highlight. Staff were really friendly and even opened 15 minutes early for us as we had to catch the ferry. Definitely worth a visit when visiting Knodyart. Service: 5 Location: 5

5 stars for the food too, in the Lookout, and at breakfast. Thanks Cara and her team and Kathy for serving us in a very busy restaurant. Rooms spotless and comfortable. Drying room for boots etc. Delicious French Toast with smoked bacon and maple syrup for breakfast. Yum. They do so, so well given their remote location. Rooms: 5 Service: 5

Walked From Kinloch Hourn over two days so really appreciated this establishment. Good welcome despite coinciding with the ferry arriving with supplies. Lovely spacious room, excellent shower. Very comfortable bed. Dinner in the airy dining room was beautiful. Wine selection limited but this is Knoydart. Breakfast was superb too and the sun shone the entire time. Ver carta

Delightful restaurant with excellent freshly cooked food. We showed up in error on the wrong night, having got the dates wrong! We were immediately welcomed and accommodated in spite of this and enjoyed a delicious meal of haggis and scallops and fish and chips, with a lovely bottle of wine. I absolutely loved my experience here. The rooms were comfortable, cozy, and clean. Cara was an informative host who also took on the role of chef in the Lookout during the evenings, and I hope she gets some well-deserved rest. Cathy was also wonderful, providing excellent service in the Lookout. The food was outstanding, especially considering how remote the location is. Overall, I would rate the rooms, service, and location all at 5 stars.

After hiking in from Glenfinnan, our group of four was in dire need of a shower and a hot meal, and having a bed to sleep in would have been a lovely bonus. Although we didn't have reservations, we were fortunate to meet Cara in town, who kindly offered to accommodate us! The rooms were incredibly comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious.
