"This is one of our favourite places to eat. The family booked a table for of us. All the staff greeted us when we went inside. The restaurant is light and welcoming and makes you feel at home. The ambiance is just perfect and...the service excellent. Food is wonderful. Have been before end never been disappointed. We love it. I and my wife stumbled on Tuesday about the big house and I must say that the food and the service was great. we enjoyed the steak-deal and our beautiful bottle wein thanks for jamie and ciaran for us and I am sure we will be back for more!

an excellent pub. we received an excellent service, although we were a challenging group of children/babies). the personal was as good as I've ever experienced and eating matched to their quality visible wood fired pizza of a beautiful note

fantastic eating and service in a great location. well appointed pub offers an extensive menu that does not disappoint. it is very popular among the locals, so I would recommend booking. the lammburger was great and the crisp chips were fantastic as the sticky...toe for dessert!

My wife took me to the Great House for a birthday treat we were met by the general manager who took us to our table overlooking the garden, he was very engaging and we spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening being looked after by the most...attentive staff, good food and great service.

The service was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was lovely, tasty and portion size was good. Atmosphere was warm and friendly and restaurant was spacious with good spaces between tables. Easy to book a table on the website. Hope to visit...again on our next holiday.

my family had just a nice meal in the big house, from the minute when we came with a warm tired but still lively children, the staff were attentive and helpful. the menu was very diverse and for all, including the vegan in our party, and when the food came, it was very delicious. I hope we can come back as soon as it really was such a good culinary experience.

Been coming here for years and always loved the ambiance and service. Today was different class and it feels like they have gone from good to elite on the food. We had a mixture of dishes (the flatbread in the pizza oven was just wow)...and everything was perfect. Staff were predictably wonderful too and Andra in particular was brilliant. Thank you for a lovely lunch and can’t wait to come back

Mother's Day celebration, midweek as it was easier to enjoy it. A busy pub with good staff who were attentive. We enjoyed the fish trout, and bass; lamb shank and chicken pie. Watch for GF which means GF Friendly (why not GFF so you...may need to change ingredients e.g. not have the bulgur wheat but potatoes instead for the same price. The sweets were, needless to say, delicious and coffee tasty.

Decided to visit The Great House for supper. Really warm welcome, lovely ambience throughout the restaurant and bar. Knowledgeable staff. Menu, innovative and interesting with some usual pub staples. Food beautifully cooked and presented, good generous portions. Really enjoyable evening. Prefer this lovely pub/restaurant to...our local off the Moor which we can walk to but after our recent meal at The Great House would prefer to hop in the car for the short drive anytime.
