This place has some amazing beers, great food and all in a lovely setting with a good atmosphere. The staff are really nice too.

A hidden gem in Clerkenwell! Great staff and probably the most price worthy pub in London. Quite busy after work and lots of local regulars. Keep up the good work! Ver carta

Went there last Friday with a few colleagues, we had a few pies and they were all delicious! The service was very good and fast the two girls attending us were really nice. We will be back for sure!

I hired the Hat and Tun for a private birthday party on a Sunday. In the lead up the team were extremely efficient. On the day, they could not have been more helpful, providing excellent food and service. Thank you very much to both back and front of house teams for making the party go with a bang!

I visit the Hat and Tun every Monday for their quiz. A new management team took over recently, headed by Nadia who has made me and other quiz regulars feel really welcome. I often eat here too, the food is not overly complicated but good quality and value. They have a few real ales on draught and a wide selection of spirits and wines. Due to being a little of the beaten path it is one of the less busy pubs in Clerkenwell, this adds to its attraction. Ver carta

It's a historic Victorian boozer on the edges of Hatton Garden. Today it was quite a challenge to find a seat as several rows of tables had been pushed together to accommodate a large party.two long tables. The menu covers all the pub staples for £9.95 from fish and chips to corned beef hash and fried egg, fishcakes with spinach, or the steak and kidney pie, mash and gravy I ordered. It was nicely served on a tray with creamy mash in a bowl as was gravy which was just enough to soak into the mash before it was all ravenously consumed. A pint of cider on draught accompanied this nicely.

Strangely after years working in the area I'd never seen this pub. It's slightly hidden away. However, it is an old and atmospheric looking place. Worth going for a pint. The food however, is best avoided. There's so much competition for your custom in the area with Leather Lane and some decent surrounding restaurants. The burger I got here was pretty bland and poor quality meat, felt like it was straight out a package. The Mac Cheese was a strong cheese, which is great but became a bit much after a few bites. The mac was too soft and clearly over cooked. The price was OK but not for the quality on offer. Won't be returning for food but certainly will drop in for a drink or two. Service was...

A first time visit spoilt to some extent by a litany of failings. At opening, only one beer on the hand pump, and this soon ran out without being replaced. The menu was incomplete at start of service, and to top it all, my colleague and I were removed from our seats as apparently the table was reserved for a group, although this was not mentioned during the first hour of our visit and was not indicated by any reserved notice on the table. We were given a free drink each at the bar in recompense, only, to our amazement, to see the group who had been given our table leave the pub ten minutes after we had been ousted without having eaten a thing.
