We had dinner while staying at the hotel. Good choice of dishes. Food was well presented pipping hot.

We thought we would have something simple like beer battered fish chips and a bottle of white wine. The white wine arrived lukewarm and needed ice cubes in our glasses to make it drinkable they don't appear to have a wine chiller cabinet....

We stayed at the hotel recently as we were hosting an event at Thyme. The staff, particularly Lauren and Jen, were excellent and made our stay extremely enjoyable. The hotel had scaffolding at the front but I can only assume this was because of improvements.

We went for a pre ordered cream tea but when it eventually arrived there were some OK sandwiches and a pile of garish cakes which we had not ordered. When just one small dry scone each arrived, we asked for more but that was refused. The jam was of a poor quality with no discernable fruit in it. No butter was offered. Throughout, the service was slow with no staff in evidence at all for long periods. The bill included a service charge which we declined, but they nad not deducted the £5 per person deposit which we had paid. We will not be back.
