We stayed at the hotel recently as we were hosting an event at Thyme. The staff, particularly Lauren and Jen, were excellent and made our stay extremely enjoyable. The hotel had scaffolding at the front but I can only assume this was because of improvements. Ver carta

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant, which was freshly cooked and offered great value on a Wednesday night with a special offer of 2 meals for £20. The Highworth is an elegant establishment with attentive and friendly staff. It is a hidden gem that definitely deserves to succeed.

Pleased to say that our first visit to The Highworth since the change of Management in December ? was really enjoyable The staff were friendly and welcoming and service attentive. We spotted one or two changes in the usual menu but actually chose from the special vegan menu a delicious squash and leek risotto. Looking forward to trying new creations in the future Ver carta

I went to The Highworth over the weekend with my family for lunch. We were welcomed by one of the new owners and made to feel at ease, which was especially nice with a new baby in our group. All four of our meals were tasty and satisfying on a rainy autumn day. We ended up staying for most of the afternoon and also indulged in homemade desserts, which were a delightful finish to our meal. We plan on returning soon and are excited to try their afternoon tea as well.

We went for a pre ordered cream tea but when it eventually arrived there were some OK sandwiches and a pile of garish cakes which we had not ordered. When just one small dry scone each arrived, we asked for more but that was refused. The jam was of a poor quality with no discernable fruit in it. No butter was offered. Throughout, the service was slow with no staff in evidence at all for long periods. The bill included a service charge which we declined, but they nad not deducted the £5 per person deposit which we had paid. We will not be back.

I visited this place with some friends for a couple of beers, looking to get away from the noisy pubs in Highworth. The bar area had a nice, laid-back atmosphere with people chatting and laughing, which added to the ambiance without overpowering our own conversation. The staff were friendly and promptly cleared our empty glasses. The owner was also present and took the time to speak to us, ensuring we were well taken care of, which was a nice gesture. Although I did not stay overnight, if the rooms are as good as the rest of the hotel, I would expect them to be clean and tidy. Ver carta
