"Being on holiday in Levisham and have used the horseshoe pub on many occasions for food more recently sunday in the beer garden .my wife and I thought we would call at 6pm for food again in the beer garden with our little dog only to be told they can't serve food outside and had we booked a table inside which was a ridiculous Question when we'd asked to eat in the beer garden.how can a pub that serves food in the middle of summer not serve food in their beer garden we would have spent in excess of £50 .All I can say they aren't short of money. Apart from the disappointment of being refused the opportunity to give the Horseshoe some cash it was the patronising way the young Girl said sorry.......well I'm sorry that this establishment will get not another penny out of us.awfull customer relations."

Lovely pub and a welcome rest stop whilst walking the Hole of Horcum loop on a sunny summer's day.

Fantastic pub with very welcoming staff. Popped in close to closing as I was on a bikepacking trip and couldn't have asked for a nicer set of bar staff! Will have to come back in the future for a bit more of a relaxing visit! Ver carta

Had a lovely stay, garden rooms are stunning very clean, the food at The Horseshoe Inn is beautiful we will definitely be returning. Everyone was very welcoming attentive, we even had a friendly lamb who had escaped from a local farm luckily he wasn't on the menu

We always come here when visiting the area. The Sunday lunch was excellent. Unfortunately after the first two courses, we had no room for a dessert. We had roast beef and belly of pork. Both were cooked perfectly, with lovely vegetables. We will certainly be back

My husband who is a celiac was provided with a separate menu with loads of choice. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. My husband had an excellent meal, including chips, and was not affected by any contamination. The food was exceptional. Thank you for making our evening special. Ver carta

"The problem began with our arrival. We are 3 adults in our mid-60s and we had already climbed one set of steps to access the bar in the pub. We were escorted to our room up two more flights of narrow stairs. On entering our room, we could smell the damp in the room and discovered mould on walls behind furniture and in the corners of the window frames. We checked the prices of the evening meals on offer and there wasn't enough variety for our party and they were quite expensive. So we decided to eat out. I asked what time the pub closed and was told, when the last customer leaves. I thought that was a bit vague so I said that we would be back at 10-ish. We arrived back just after 10pm to find all entrances to the pub were fully locked up and we were unable to get in. I called the pub and, after a while, my call went to voicemail with a message that there was no one to answer my call. I left a voicemail, this was followed by another message to say that there was no one to respond to my voicemail! My party had got back into the car as it was raining and I drove to the front of the pub and sounded my horn for some time then drove to the back of the pub. At this point, a man appeared saying he had a message to come and let us in so, finally, we got in to the pub to access our room. We had an uncomfortable night but managed to get up for the early breakfast (great breakfast! and check-out. We raised all the damp and mould issues with the man who had let us in and, as one of us was asthmatic, told him that we would be leaving a poor review of the room and that they shouldn't book that room out to any one else until the issues were resolved."
