Lively pub full of character, pictures &history. We had a Christmas lunch there and food well cooked and full of flavour. Would recommend to visit if you are near by.

Arranged a Saturday lunch gathering with about 30 old friends from university days. Everything about the pub was just great; we were together in the larger of the two private rooms upstairs. Very mellow atmosphere, lovely food, relaxed, friendly staff. Sensibly priced. Unpretentious, highly recommended.

The pub's unapologetically Victorian aesthetic is attractive and inviting. I encourage visitors to engage with patrons and barstaff to learn of the pub's history, and become familiar with Lady Ottoline's influence in Bloomsbury. Food and drink is generously priced, and served to a meticulously high standard. The service from barstaff was exceptional, and I was especially impressed with Norman's nature and professionalism.
