"Me and my partner stayed in one of the rooms here over the weekend and it was lovely. Spacious room and bathroom with large shower (big enough for two. Good size TV mounted on the wall and a comfortable bed. Kettle, milk, sugar, tea coffee were also provided in the room with some little biscuits. We was on the third floor so didn't hear any noise from below and it's literally opposite town center so you have shops food places nearby. My only issue was the feather pillows so annoying and kept waking up with neck ache. All in all, for £56 a night, it was a bargain!"

Did not expect the rooms to be that nice! Big clean bathrooms, decent heating. The beds are really firm tho and the pillows are a bit thin. Otherwise, being right across the street from the station is very nifty.

The employees at this restaurant seem uninterested and unfriendly. I was recently served by a young man who approached me, pointed, poured my drink, and placed it down without speaking. It feels like the McDonald's of the pub industry.

Plenty of space, a big old building indeed. Friendly staff and quick service he was a popular bloke that Yarborough wasn't he! Charles Anderson Pelham, 1st Earl of Yarborough actually died on his yatch at Vigo in Spain... The family name and hereditary peerage still remain... Ver carta

Visited Wetherspoons for a lunch meal with my partner. Ordered via QR code at the table that was available. Fast service wasn't waiting long. The place was busy. Food was very nice and a cheeky cocktail for after was delicious. Price was reasonable but wish I had stayed longer.. hopefully we be back soon. Love the hot drink offer.. I have visited once before around 8 years ago and still seems the same. Same atmosphere and a nice relaxed afternoon.

A warm and welcoming atmosphere. Not loud, we called on a weekday during the school holidays and didn't notice any children in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No separate vegan menu, no vegan mayonnaise, vegan options clearly labelled on the menu. Beyond burger was amazeballs. Had to pay for BBQ sauce as that was the only vegan sauce available to put on my burger. Not given 5* due to limited options for vegans. Jacket potato/burger /pizza. Food was steaming hot and tasty as. Would definitely visit again. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-16

"Attended a family wedding here recently. The restaurant, the location and the facilities were top notch, I think you would have to work hard to improve on what they have achieved here. However, the bar staff in the first floor function suite leave much to be desired ! Their attitude and reaction to the wedding guests during the wedding reception and evening event should definatly be improved ! It began with the sullen faces of the waiting staff during the reception , most should learn how to smile only one lady waitress blonde hair new starter was polite and smiled give her a job in staff training We asked for a bread roll during lunch, to be told, only for guests who have ordered soup ! Eventually after asking again they brought two over for the brides father... The evening event was a challenge when we struggled to understand why the part bottles of wine had disappeared from the table, when most of the guests were drinking spirits and beer etc. The penny , or should I say the C £17,000 dropped when the waitresses were removing full glasses of drinks from the table without checking! When challenged , the nonchalant response was to place the drinks back on the table and march off like petulant teenager! Our dismay was amplified the following day during a conversation with the restaurant manager told us , that 's what we do, If you need to keep your opened bottles of wine on the table you need to let us know , otherwise they will be removed! oh, so the wine is cleared along with the newly poured drinks too then? I don 't think we, or anyone else we know have ever been to a restaurant and even thought to tell the waiting staff not to take the half bottles of wine away before they have been emptied ? This usual practice was not discussed when we booked ! A cynic could suspect they re sell the newly recovered wine by the glass. This said, the manager did compensate with two bottles of the brides choice , so thanks for recognising the issue. But please consider NOT removing part bottles etc without checking in the first place."
