"Visited this pub on 5 occasions whilst staying in the village on holiday. Ate in the pub on 4 nights. Good, varied menu, portions are on the large size and food is good old fashioned home cooked pub grub. The lamb shank was full of meat and fell off the bone. Also had the petit sole fillets in tempura batter, very nice. Nice beers (apart from Doombar, but that's a metter of choice). Avocet is a nice organic real ale. Locals are friendly and staff behind the bar are excellent. Highly recommend a visit, be aware that they currently close on Monday."

Lovely friendly pub serving good pub food. We visited twice during our weeks holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. You need to be hungry though, the portions are big.

We stayed with family in horrabridge at the end of August and visited the London inn. A lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and an amazing very large garden area with a chicken coup amazing views too.

We visited with a large group of people as part of a social event. We had our own area of the pub with plenty of seating. Good menu choices. When the food came, the homemade portions were generous and food was delicious. Ver carta

We had two meals during our stay in the area, both were good with generous portions and from a wide varied menu. There was also a good selection of local ales on offer. The staff were attentive quick and friendly. A good pla ce to eat, drink and relax.

Nice little country pub off the beaten track. Food was lovely but was just too big to finish. Meal sizes definitely good if you like big meals. All food reasonably priced. Dog friendly and homely feel . Tried this place on a friends recommendations and wasn’t disappointed at all. Ver carta

Ate here on 2 occasions during our stay in the area. It’s a proper pub but the food is first class. There is plenty of choice on the menu and it’s cooked to order using high quality ingredients. The staff are friendly and there is a good atmosphere in the place. There is a large car park at the rear of the building. I have only one tiny negative comment, the portions are huge, make sure you are really hungry if you visit.

Had lunch here today after a great walk along the Tavistock Canal with our 4 dogs. My wife had a cottage pie and i had a chicken pie with chips. We were served by Tina and can honestly say we were both impressed not only by Tina's excellent customer skills but the food was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The plates and food were hot till the end of the meal something we always look for. We aim to return again shortly but can honestly say our whole experience at the London Inn was brilliant. WELL DONE STAFF....

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
