"We travel a lot and over the years have stayed in numerous inns. This by far was the one with the warmest friendliest welcome we have ever experienced. It started with George who welcomed us, showed us to our room and gave us all the information we needed. Our room was comfortable with everything you could need. We had dinner and were looked after by such friendly staff. The same at breakfast! All the staff are charming, attentive and nothing is too much trouble"

Excellent food and service at a busy lunchtime sitting with family. Great atmosphere. I would recommend the beer battered fish and home made hand cooked chips.

Love it here. Everything about the Mary Tavy Inn is super. We travelled with our very large Labrador and we could not have been more welcome. Super breakfast and evening meals. Well located, parking and a great nights sleep.

This pub is warm, cosy and friendly. The food is outstanding- great tasting, home/locally made and cooked perfectly. Attentive staff who knew their menu and take good care of the customers. Highly recommend this place for eating/relaxing. Couldn’t be better.

Food was lovely, restaurant has been completely renovated and looks amazing Staff were cheerful and great Food is of a high standard and not over priced If we’d mention one thing, it’s that they need to turn the heat up a bit in the restaurant, it was cool, which wasn’t the best

Needed somewhere to stay in the campervan overnight, which The Mary Tavy Inn provided for free if you had a meal with them. Food was lovely and reasonably priced, staff were very friendly with nothing too much trouble. Stayed in grassed area at the end of the carpark which gave lovely views. Highly recommend.

Just pop down to Mary TV for lunch from Teignmouth it was a nostalgic visit the service was great the places itself looked fantastic the food was really good and I said to the landlord I must complement him on his gents Lew it looked absolutely fantastic it was well worth the 90 mile Drive just to go for a week we'll definitely go there again because 90 miles is not far for a decent meal

A cosy tavern on the fringes of Dartmoor. Plenty of choice when it comes to ales, ciders and lagers. Friendly helpful bar staff and a comfortable atmosphere all round. Well behaved dogs welcome. A covered patio area overlooking the wooded valley below with beautiful views of Dartmoor beyond. I didn't notice whether food was on offer. Will certainly calk in again for a pint after a day walking the Moor. Thanks.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
