"Best Fish and Chips PERIOD !!! I grew up in England and moved to the USA many years ago. I go back home quite a lot and it’s very sad that you can no longer find a proper good fish and chip shop . Growing up we always knew which ones were the best and wouldn’t go anywhere else . But nowadays they are mostly awful especially the tourist areas and pub fish and chips Yuk . HOWEVER this one is a Must Visit. I was there with my American GF and decided what the heck we haven’t had much look with fish and chips let’s give it a try. WOW Just like back when I was a kid great fish and chips, batter is perfect and chips are amazing just like I remember (good pies as well . GF said it’s ruined “fries” forever for her as they were the best ones she’s ever had . If your a tourist in the cottswolds area and want “proper” British fish and chips eat here . Don’t be fancy and try and eat at a bench, pick them up, sit on the curb outside and enjoy ... :"

haddock is one of the best! soou big and fresh! huhn nugget and scampi is in order. not as impressed as fish! highly recommended to come there for the fish!

Delicious fish and chips! I come here anytime I'm in the Cotswolds. They have all the trimmings and they don't mind making me crispy chips! It's a winner for me Food: 5 Service: 5

here on a long trip to the house in the late evening. only open space for miles, but I wasn't disappointed. good delicious cakes and chips, hot and quite expensive too. if only the public toilets in the parking space are not closed by 20 clock.

This takeout restaurant serves good fish dishes. The lady who served us was very friendly. The overall service and food quality were both rated a 4 out of 5. The atmosphere was rated a 3 out of 5. The average price per person for lunch is between £10-£20.

I have had many bags of chips from this restaurant and have never been disappointed. It's the perfect comfort food to enjoy after a stroll around town. There are plenty of benches along the green to sit at, or you can sit on the steps of the war memorial and watch the passing traffic envy your delicious meal. The Mermaid Fish Bar does great work. Food rating: 5.
