Didn’t book but no problem as the duty manager found us a table. Excellent food and service. Great menu choice and some lovely festive cocktails.

I came here for an evening meal earlier in 2022 and wasn’t impressed so left a bad review. However my visit this time for lunch was much, much better to the point where I felt the need to give credit where credit is due and...

We ate here this evening and were disappointed with the extremely slow service, missing meals and no apologies even the drinks were slow. We were told it was busy but less than half the tables were occupied. I won’t be revisiting.

My family and I booked in for a Sunday roast for 4, drinks order and food taken promptly. A good chat and another drinks order done, we enquired to find where the meal was. Unfortunately there had been a technical error and the order missed....

We had a lovely meal tonight at the Millstream enjoying starters, mains and a dessert accompanied with a few beers and a cider. All food was excellent, good portions, warm and looked great- empty plates at each course. We loved our server Missy. She was helpful, cheerful and polite. She checked back to ensure we were happy with our food and had a good rapport with all of the tables around us. She is definitely a credit to have on the Millstream team.

This pub used to be one of our good favourites to visit fairly often, but today we were very disappointed. I went with my husband to celebrate a birthday. We ordered Nacho's to share which was less than half the size of our memory using cheap cheese and cooked by chef Mike in the microwave. We were informed that the grill wasn't working so we could have steaks, we chose Sea Bass from the specials menu with which the Hollandaise sauce was split and the vegetables were raw and very heavy on the salt. Also we had chicken ribs, the chicken was overcooked and quite dry. We thought the service by Sarah was very good but we won't be going back in a hurry.

We go to this place most Sundays, I usually have Sunday roast beef. The meat and the vegetables are really lovely, gravy has a lovely flavour. The only thing is the roast potatoes, they are nearly always very hard, too over cooked. It's such a shame as roast potatoes is a big part of the dinner. They should be crispy but fluffy inside., shouldn't be too hard to improve the roast potatoes. There was three of us had roasts. One had gammon steak she had a jacket potato with it. and two more had hunters chicken,which had chips with it. The meals were all nicely served by a lovely young lady called Amy. We go here every Sunday when we are all together, we never have puddings as we take it in turn...

The only reason I didn 't give five stars was: when we arrived I was using a rollator. When the man was deciding where to seat us I pointed this out and he said 'sorry but we have steps here and this wasn 't mentioned when booked '. The tone was unmistakablely of annoyance. We considered ourselves told off. I explained it was a day to day thing and today was a bad day so I had to use it. No response, no apology, no acknowledgement that I 'd spoken. If it 's that important to you then you should ask the question when someone books a table, 'and is anyone in your party disabled? '. It 's not difficult. As for steps.... we were shown to a table, not a step in sight. So the attitude was unnecess...

A group of 5 retired bankers (NatWest) frequent this venue regularly for a chat about current banking practice, when compared to the joyous times of yesteryear, pre retirement, reflecting upon how lucky we were! The usual lady server was well known to two of our crew, as they virtually live in the bar..the other three of us are some distance away so I pen this as an 'outsider '. As title, the menu is superior to our Hertfordshire McMullan 's..apparently there is some sort of choice to the local publicans..this here is excellent for this type of venue with superior portions and choice.
