"Very slow service. Very limited menu. Poor value for money. We ordered bread and olives for the table. We received a small bowl of olives, three slices of sourdough bread (for 4 diners? and some flavoured butter no plates or butter knives. The menu had recently changed and was more limited than the summer menu. The only vegetarian main dish was unavailable, as it had apparently not been prepped. The chicken and leek pie had been heavily flavoured with a herb (tarragon? which was not mentioned on the menu, and which gave it a very strong liquorice/aniseed flavour. The pie itself was very big, and generously filled, but very much more leek than chicken, and the chicken appeared to be thigh rather than breast meat. The haddock and chips was generous, but the skin had been left on the fish. The single dessert ordered (rice pudding had an excessive amount of topping which overpowered the flavour of the rice. Service took so long that we were at our table for well over two hours."

Had a very limited vegetarian selection on the menu we were given, the staff were pleasant and the food ordered was delivered quickly and good quality.

Started with the gin smoked salmon which was very good, then had a beef roast. All tasted very fresh, decent yorkshire puddings too. Lovely surroundings great view.

Just visited for a quick lunch. Was greeted by a lovely waitress (Debbie) who was extremely efficient, polite and attentive… food was very tasty even though we only had a lite bite. Will be back to sample the main menu one evening in the very near future. See you soon

I had the burger and I wasted most of it because the bun fell apart while trying to eat it, the portion size was ok (definitely not £16 worth), myself and my hubby had chips that was so hard that we couldn't eat them .the waitress was the most pleasant part of our first and only trip to this restaurant.

Just popped in for a coffee before having a walk. I think that's the longest I've ever waited for a coffee 25 minutes, no exaggeration, and wasn't busy. However, there was only one staff member making coffee and she had to take orders at the till at the same time. I think some support for her was needed.

Visited here a few times over the past few months after moving to the area, previously it has not been anything special but in my opinion it has vastly improved and we enjoyed a really great lunch here yesterday it was quieter than we had previously experienced for a Saturday but that’s probably down to the bad weather but the food was outstanding and (with the exception of the bar staff) all staff were polite and friendly. It also has free parking which is an added bonus.

A few weeks ago I enjoyed a great lunch and posted a review saying I could not understand the negative reviews. Well I now understand fully why customers are left dissatisfied. We called in at about 11.00am and asked to reserve an outdoor table. We were told these tables could not be reserved but would be allocated on a first come first served basis. We returned at 12.30, took our place at an outdoor table with a fantastic view overlooking Minnis Bay. But we were told they would not serve food to the outdoor tables. .

My family and I visited for the first time. We will definitely be returning as the location is beautiful. No it is not the cheapest for food and drinks but then everything is going up in price and I don't mind paying for such gorgeous views and fab service. Our waitress Beth was attentive and polite and when we had a small problem with one of the meals, it was dealt with quickly and efficiently with a sincere apology. The fish and chips were lovely and fresh and a good sized portion too. Really looking forward to returning. It's worth the hour drive.

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
