Reliably good food and friendly service. As well as all the usuals they have some great specials on the menu, worth going back to try them out!

Really lovely meal here tonight, staff very attentitive and friendly and service was brilliant. Food fabulous. Lovely little gem in Ongar high street. We will most definately be back

I chose the restaurant based on the reviews and was not disappointed. The staff were all very friendly. The menu had many dishes that I had not seen before with plenty of choices and prices reasonable. All our food was served piping hot and the best of ingredients were used. Ver carta

We have visited the Mogul in the past, but not for a while. Tonight’s visit was first class! The food was superb, especially the mackerel and pomelo off the specials board! The staff were very attentive and fun. The whole evening was great and the bill very reasonable. We certainly won’t leave it so long next time! Highly recommended. We will be back very soon!

Had another wonderful meal at The Mogul last night. Introduced our 2 friends to this restaurant and they were very impressed. Staff know every ingredient in the dish and can explain exactly how it’s cooked. Did not rush us from our table. Perfectly handled our allergy requests and even sourced non alcoholic beer!! Cannot wait to return. Best Indian restaurant in Essex.

Amazing evening Went with friends and had a great table at the back of the restaurant Staff very friendly and attentive Apparently we couldn’t see the specials board and the manager brought us samples of each as they had forgotten to tell us Then we were given one of the main specials as well! The mackerel was fantastic but so were all the other dishes All in all we couldn’t fault a single thing Even the bill was good! We will all be back again soon Ver carta

Friendly staff and atmosphere, regardless of whether it is packed or on a quieter sports night on TV. The menu is going through some changes, and myself and friends have been fortunate to be there when (one of) the owner 's, who is also a chef, who is passionate about the cooking process offers free menu tasters to work out if that item is going on the main menu or next 'specials ' menu. They were very helpful with choosing the right meal if, like me, you are on a very restricted diet. I have been back several times and will definitely be here again.

We’ve been enjoying The Specials Menus which run from Thursdays to Saturdays, changing monthly. There is a wonderful variety of dishes on offer, something for everyone. I have to say though they surpassed themselves last night with the cod and bisi dish an authentic Bangladeshi creation, with gently pan fried cod (in olive oil) in basmati rice with Bangladeshi broad beans mixed throughout so unusual, very delicately flavoured, enhanced by the waiter squeezing lemon juice over the food at the point of serving to add a fabulous zing to it all. utterly superb!

Found this place spontaneously last night and what a fantastic decision. VERY welcoming staff, great, unstuffy atmosphere and AMAZING good. Specials board which was explained to us in great detail. Whilst waiting for our mains we were provided with starters off the specials as a taster. Brilliant way of trying new foods and excellent customer experience. The staff couldn't do enough for you and as I mentioned, this was more than just a meal out, it became a while experience. The food was delicious and so much choice easily has become our new favourite and we can't wait to return. Great value for money not too pricey. Highly recommended. Ver carta
